Expensive Disposable Large Safety Gloves!
In this world of pandemic we live in having PPE and gloves is a must. These gloves couple of years ago would have been sold for pennies but in the world of high demand for Personal Protection needs like gloves the asking price while steep ($0.75 / Count) we have no much choices but to get the necessary protection for self and members of the household. Each time you wear and dispose these you are throwing $1.50 down the drain! - Wow!These are Large size fit and have distinct blue color and somewhat resemble the gloves car mechanics wear. These are no means suitable for medical needs and aren't classified as one. Having said that, these do fit very tightly on average hands perfectly without tearing. I wishes that these were slightly larger in size. Good news is that these do not have any latex smell or powder and suitable for people who are allergic to latex gloves. BTW, These aren't super heavy duty Nitrile gloves but of average thickness Food Safe Nitrile Gloves Coated with apparently some sort of "BioProtect" (Antimicrobial Protection) coating which I have no means to test. So we will have to take the manufacturer's word on that.Bottom-line: I am generously rating them with three stars.. I wish the price were little less.. asking $29.99 for mere 20 pairs is like ouch! I wish this COVID-19 pandemic wasn't there!

100% Treated in the USA
So these nitrile gloves are supposedly been treated with a powerful protectant called BioProtect and packaged here in the USA which is very reassuring to know. To be honest, I have no way of telling if the protectant is present since these gloves are odorless and powder free, but I will gladly accept the words of the manufacturer. The gloves seem to be well made and durable and no residue from wearing them. I got the size L but they should be able to expand or stretch out a couple more inches due to the latex like material, does not rip easily and very easy to get in or out. So if the circumference of your hand or palm is between 8" to 9", I believe these should be ok and fit well, like it did for me. But at $0.75 a glove, I can remember these used to be so much cheaper during normal times. However, we are living and dealing with this pandemic so I can absolutely understand the important of these gloves. Obviously, I will try to get as much out of these gloves as I can while practicing and following all the safety protocols from the CDC as well.

Expensive, disinfectant coated, disposable gloves of unknown practical benefit
Disclaimer: I received this product for free through the Vine program.Disposable nitrile gloves have become expensive due to the demand created by the pandemic. A box of 100 5 mil gloves is currently running about $30 online at Amazon, they're about $18 if you buy them in person at Harbor Freight. I used to get a similar box for under $8 before the pandemic. This $30 pack of 40 gloves is coated with "BioProtect," a bactericidal and fungicidal agent. The active ingredient is 3-(Trihydroxysilyl) propyldimenhyloctadecyl ammonium chloride which is a quaternary ammonium chloride (quat) compound in the same general family as the disinfectant found in Lysol or Formula 409. Quats work by disrupting lipoprotein membranes in bacteria and the lipid coating of viruses. The question is: is it worth spending the extra money to get these gloves rather than plain nitrile gloves? The BioProtect coating should, over time, kill bacteria that is in direct contact with the glove. I found one study showing that over a several week period it did significantly reduce the number of microbes on furniture in 3 different hospitals. I'm not sure how you can extrapolate that to the short amount of time that a typical disposable glove is worn and whether that has a practical benefit in the reducing the spread of pathogens in a health care or other setting. The BioSafe (the manufacturer of this glove) website lists no actual studies verifying the efficacy of these gloves and makes no claims other than it "Prevents the spread and growth of bacteria ON THE GLOVES."The gloves themselves feel like typical nitrile gloves. I got the large size and felt they were just a bit on the skimpy side compared to large nitrile gloves I got at Harbor Freight; the fingers were just a bit shorter and the nitrile felt just a tad thinner. The weight of these gloves was about 4.15 g vs 4.65 g for my 5 mil Harbor Freight gloves. As a disposable glove they felt perfectly adequate for light duty work. They would not last long in a harsh environment like scrubbing, heavy lifting, or mechanical work.My take is that you should use these disposable gloves like any other disposable glove. The BioProtect coating should not replace common sense and universal precautions. They're more than twice as expensive as standard gloves but might be helpful in reducing bacterial and viral counts. The absence of any scientific studies proving efficacy means their practical benefit is unknown.
