Orbit Underground Timer 12 Stat W/Remote

This is a good working timer system for outdoor use. The push-in system for installing the wires was easy and straightforward. There was a mounting template in the box so that was easy too. The programming was relatively easy (as these things go) and it is nice having three program options. I had an earlier, push-button version of this timer. The dial on this version is much, much easier. The power transformer for 24v Dc is inside the waterproof box (behind the timer) so all you have to do is plug it into the outlet.The remote worked throughout my 1/4 acre property and it is great to be able to check a sprinkler while standing right at it.(Makes it easy to start one, snag it with the pliers, then turn the water off if it needs repair.) The box for outdoor use appears to be strong, waterproof, has a nice strong latch, and a lock with two keys.Two things I would change, if I could: 1) have room in the box for the remote. it wouldn't be hard to have the box be a bit higher so the remote could be set above the timer and locked up safe. 2) add a punch-out for 3/4" conduit. Since I have wires coming in from three directions I need 3/4" conduit to accommodate my system. This only takes 1/2". It wasn't too hard to widen the hole with the tools I have, but would have been easier with a punch-out.

The remote is awesome and works from anywhere in my yard or house. The unit is very easy to program. Before I purchased and used this product, I agreed with one reviewer- wish the box it's housed in had space to store the remote, but now that I have used it I believe it's much more handy kept in my house or garage anyway.

3rd time is the charm. This is the third replacement. Easy to setup and use. First two killed by lightening strikes. Bought again as best timer I have experienced with 12 stations. Great price and quality.

Easy to operate and a solid feel. Remote works well but has limited either 10 minute or 5 minute timer.

Very well built sprinkler timer....Heavy duty; built to last. My only complaint is the remote distance isn't any where like it's described. Within 50' it works great. Nearer to 100' not so good.

This is the second timer I've purchased from Orbitz. Our last one got fried by lightening. This system is very easy to use. Instructions are very clear.

Unit would not work in my system. Seller pushed me off to the manufacturer (Orbit) claiming it was defective and should be covered by warranty. Orbit claimed nothing was wrong with it it just wouldn't work in my system. Appealed to seller who has yet to reply. So, I'm now without a controller and out ~$90.
