Protection
Purchased this item to make sure that should I get an electric surge affecting my garage opener, the opener will not be affected by the surge and be protected from damage. The WIFI connection works well as I can open door with my remote and my wall mounted button is working as well. Very easy to install and connection was just as quick for testing and working.

Nice product & looks well made. A little bulky, so not the best for tight spaces. Can only use 1 of the plugins because of size.

Post Power Blip
We had a brief power blip and it virtually killed the wireless internet connection circuit board in my garage door opener. I called garage door company and explained that i was no longer able to remotely open my garage door. I explained the blip. I was asked if I had a surge protector installed for the garage door opener, I told them I didn't have one. They said they would sent me a replacement board and stongly suggested I install a surge protector. I ordered this unit and we've encountered 2 power blips and they didn't affect my garage door opener. I strongly suggest having one of these installed in your own home.
