Works great. Gradual slope handles large weight.

Oh so great, except too heavy for me to move.
This wedge pillow was truly a Godsend for a time for me, until I could find alternate inflatable wedge pillows I could lift off the bed so I could sleep flat again. It is very soft to the touch, but the foam is firm enough to rest the back on without it compromising posture, but supporting it. It is wide enough, important to me when sleeping on it so I had side to side rolling possibilities, though just enough and no more. I have an electric hospital bed, and needed this to increase the head rise to something closer to vertical for upright sitting. With my bed, it still didn't raise me me quite to the ideal, but close. If I remember right, this is memory foam... I am not a fan because it seems to me that memory foam is just double-speak for "breaks down quickly and no longer works for what you got it for." I can't tell you about that, because I used it only a month or maybe two before I found inflatable wedge pillows that I could use which I could also finally lift off the bed at night for sleeping. But I have placed the foam wedge on the floor on its side, and against the wall, and it makes an interesting and very happy vertical back for sitting on the floor for me. I use the "neck pillow" that came with as a cushion for my seat and it's really nice for that now.I have multiple fractured vertebrae and disc injuries, and good support for the spine is critical for meI generally can't lift more than 4 pounds, sometimes less, without injury, so I couldn't move this pillow off the bed at night. But, oh my gosh, it was so comfortable and supportive, and allowed me to turn as well, it was really helpful. I previously had a folding wedge - I didn't see any still available, thank heavens - as these age the two pieces lose their support at different rates, and you are left with a shape that is far more harmful than good. OUCH!! So this one piece wedge was heaven to use until I found inflatable versions (not as wide or so perfectly supportive).Lastly, I did find this pillow toxic/smelly at first, but several days airing outside at a friends with the cover off made it doable. If I'd had someone to lift it off the bed for me at night, I'd still be using it.

Great buy, definitely worth the money
All the others have been so small and move around. This one was large and wide and comfy. I did return mine, only because it was a bit too high and I didn't want to chop it up and hope it would be ok (ok for cheap versions, not for this more $$ one).

Feels like hospital bed when it is tipped up
The wedge is wonderful, especially for post operative use. It is like having a hospital bed tipped up at about 30 degree angle, just right. Suggest, like in a hospital bed, that you put a regular pillow on top of it. It is comfortable without the pillow, but as in a hospital, I suggest you put a pillow on top of it, preferably a soft one, like hospitals use, to enhance fast sleep. It would also help to keep the wedge clean. Sure, you can wash the covers, but still, sweat and grease from hair is going to seep through and get into the foam. Best use pillow on top, like hospitals use.The only problem I have is that it SMELLS, I can smell it in the next room! I hope that airs out and vanishes. I just got it. As soon as I got it out of the wrapper it GREW, lol. It kept growing until it was fully formed. Beautiful!

Very comfortable but offgassing chemicals
Wedge is very comfortable and supportive. Fits king-size pillows. If you are considering this wedge for surgical recovery I would recommend letting it air out for a few days as it has a sharp chemical smell. I got a headache the first time I used it. It comes rolled up in a tight package, surprisingly not heavy for its size
