signal seems to be weaker than phones
Used thison my laptop and it seems that it could not find the wifi when the signal is weak. But on my phone, it can still connect to the same wifi. Overall, it is good.

Requires an undocumented step to use with Mac Catalina - UPDATED WITH INFO RE: Mac OS16, Big Sur
I've only had this a few days and I'm writing this review just in case you're running Mac Catalina, because I had a hard time figuring out the installation process. I eventually succeeded but not thanks to the instructions on the Edimax instructions or their website. If you are running Catalina you will definitely have to download the driver from their website (don't bother with the accompanying little cdrom). If your wifi card is working, you'll need to turn it off in System Preferences/Network; in my case, my wifi card had died, so I had nothing to turn off. You may well have to go to System Preferences/Security and Privacy, unlock that, then permit it to download from identified developers, before the installation will complete successfully. Now, here's a step that is NOT in the instructions: Once the driver installation eventually successfully finishes, and the mac restarts, look for a NEW LITTLE ICON up in the top menu bar. Find it? (see my photo -- icon looks different from this before wifi is turned on) Right-click on it and turn it on. If necessary, click on Open Wireless Utility to find your wifi network and sign on. So far, for me, this gizmo is working great -- but its installation instructions need re-writing, for Macs, at least. A last note: I read somewhere that if you update your macbook's operating system, this adapter won't work any longer, or at least until they update the driver. So be forewarned.NOTE, on 9/20 I contacted the manufacturer to ask if they would be supporting Mac OS16, Big Sur, when it comes out soon. I received this reply:"At this moment, we don't have schedule for the new driver of Mac 10.16 Big Sur. I am sorry about this. Usually we won't have new driver until a few months after the new Mac OS released. I personally think the new driver will be available at the beginning of year 2021 but I can not guarantee that. Please do not upgrade your Mac OS yet.Once we have new driver, we will post it on our web site. Thank you."
