I've been using Pravana Chromasilk color for several months (both home and salon) and love it! Great color, gentle on hair, no obnoxious smell. I love Pravana hair color. I've been ordering it from a beauty supply on East coast but I saw it offered on Amazon for about same price but with free shipping. So I clicked away...I received the correct color (6.22) but the packaging wasn't the same. Hmmmm. I threw caution to the wind because my roots were getting way out of hand. Mixed it as usual with 20 vol. Pravana developer. The mixture reeked of ammonia instead of Pravana's mild scent. But roots y'know so I applied it but it didn't feel like Pravana at all. It wasn't an allergic reaction - it just had usual sting that came with old school permanent color that used loads of ammonia. Pravana is a low ammonia formula with no irritation and it doesn't smell like I forgot to scoop the litter boxes.The one positive is that the color itself turned out ok. However no soft shiny Pravana hair - it felt like box color straw hair. Yuk!It could've been a manufacturer's defect, old product/formula, or a fake Lots of cosmetics, hair products, etc. are made to look like the real deal but are about as real as my hair color.Pravana is fabulous line but there was something definitely "off" with this tube. This is a really pretty color. My level 8 (natural) hair tends to pick up reds easily, so it was nice that this color has a beige base. Turned out a little darker than I had expected at first, but after a few washes it was just right. The only other commentary I would add is that I was under the impression that this was a demi permanent, so I used a 10 vol. with it. While it did fade, I did have some new growth before it faded completely. Next time I will use a zero lift developer with the product to ensure for a true demi. I should also add that I am very impressed with the pravana line. It smells nice, it did not damage my hair, and I don't think I would have gotten a better color if I had gone to my aveda salon for a color job (and paying 10 times as much).

Pravana never disappoints.

Pravana makes great hair color. I purchased in March 2021 thru Prime. The box arrived with mold on the inside and the tube had something that might be hair dye on the edge. It looked like someone had run it over with a semi truck. Images attached.If you order check your items as soon as it arrives.I had to return this for a refund which is pretty absurd.
