7.2V 3000mAh High Power Rechargeable NiMH Battery Pack Low-self Discharge with KET Connectors for RC Cars, RC Truck, RC Airplane, RC Helicopter, RC Boat

Returning to the RC car business after several years, all the good old batteries died. So have to get some new one. I have tested several NiMH battery and Li-ion battery. Just want to share with you my test results.1. MR.BATT battery, claimed to have 3000mAhhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y6782XT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Only $10, tested only have 2500mAh. But the worst part is that its internal resistance is 0.2 ohm.After one trial, the outer plastic wrap broken.Even worst, after one use, one of the cell is shorted internally.Not recommended.2. FUSADEL 5000mAh batter.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GUT2W9Q/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1$21.98, but tested only about 3000mAh. Returned it immediately.Not recommended.3. Powerextra 7.2V 3000mAhhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DZACEUA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1$13.99, tested to have about 2800mAh, internal resistance is about 0.14 ohm.After one trial, the battery stay in shape.About 2800mAh/$14 = 200mAh/$.4. Tenergy 7.2V 3800mAhhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0037U4Q8M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1$21.99, tested to have about 3500mAh, internal resistance is about 0.08 ohm.Have not tested on road yet, but I expect the performance to be good.About 3500mAh/$22 = 159mAh/$.5. Zeee 2s Lipo battery 5200mAhhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076Z778MJ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1$52.99 for two. Tested to be around 4500mAh, internal resistance is about 0.04 ohm (very good).Cannot try it on my Tamiya Dark Impact since the battery is bigger than the battery compartment. My fault. I expect the performance to be good.About 4500mAh/$26.5 = 170mAh/$Charging method: Charge at 1C rate by automatic charger.Discharge method: Li-ion, discharge to 3.0V per cell. NiMH, dicharge to 0.9V per cell.

I put this battery in a 1991 Blackfoot. Wow! This truck never had this speed or run time. It charges in a reasonable amount of time on a Hobbico auto charger. I havent timed it but is about 20-25 mins. Which is fine for me since the truck needs a cool down after a bashing.

I feel that this is a great price for a battery pack and I received it quickly.I gave it a fresh charge when I received it (plan on that) and then installed it in my robot. It has been working excellently. I try to let it get close to dead (15% - 10%) and then charge.In general (not just for this battery), if you want to swap/charge earlier, you might want a drain device or a changer that will discharge before charging. These batteries work better if they are close to being discharged (but not dead) before they are recharged.

Attempted to charge it with my Blackwidow peak detector charging unit,it charged for about an hour and then wouldn’t charge further. Maybe it came pre-charged,but I doubt it. Will be testing tomorrow and will update as necessary.Update- I’m gonna say it was pre-charged because I’ve used this battery in the Traxxas East start module for over a week and it’s still going..Possibly my charger is to blame who knows. I’m upgrading my rating because I highly doubt this unit is defective,but rather my charger.

I bought this battery to see if it truly was 3000mah. I also bought a similarly priced branded competitor at the same time to compare values. My charger shows actual amperage values, so it is easy to see discrepancies in marketing. After a discharge/charge cycle the battery showed 1238mah on my charger. The competitor also a 3000mah battery showed 2819mah after the same treatment. I will be in contact with the seller.Update: The seller contacted me right away and has worked very hard to make things right. I would never hesitate to buy from this seller due to their excellent customer service. They immediately sent out a replacement battery. It tested better than the first but sadly, it too tested below the 3000mah mark. These batteries are inexpensive and will work just fine for most RC toys. After this entire experience I increased my rating from 1 to 3 stars due to the amazing customer service.
