Overall, this bag fits a large bill and has robust double-stitching.The polymer plate that supports the back is actually impressive. I ordered this for a gravel race last weekend. On a wet corner, I was cut-off and fell on another bike's EggBeater; my back landed STRAIGHT on this guy's EggBeater.The impact definitely was not cozy although the polymer plate dispersed the impact just enough to keep me in the race. I had a hydration pack and a rain jacket stuffed in it. Both were fine!I was approached by officials and other cyclists who also noted how f****d that landing was. I mean, I might as well have landed on a sharp rock.Thanks to this pack, I ended up addressing I was okay, finished the race, and had but a baseball-sized, dim red spot. LolThe packs are pricey but they will keep your back in better shape than without if you crash! Stuff it with a rain pack and a hydration pack; save that back!

Was looking for a long time for a mtb backpack that I could also take to work.After doing some research (I watched a lot of youtube videos), I decided to invest in this Evoc bacpack to try it out. I ordered the small after returning the size L, because sizing is for body type, not for size of the backpack.It isn’t cheap, but the benefits stack up pretty easily:1) It fits my Macbook Pro 15” (I use an additional laptop sleeve to keep it nice and snug, because it doesn’t have a dedicated, built in sleeve, but with the extra sleeve, you can easily take your laptop to work)2) Air circulation: I always arrived at work with a sweaty back, but that has reduced significantly with the air flow and pads of this backpack. The waist and chest straps allow for the backpack to hang loose to increase air flow from your back.3) Lots of pockets to store your work / mtb belongings: it has a lot of small compartments and mesh inner pockets to store work related stuff like pens, battery packs, a mouse, … & whenever I go riding on my gravel bike, those are dedicated for storing your tools, small pump, inner tires, snacks, etc. The helmet sleeve is amazing for prepping your ride and dual side pockets are perfect for easy access to extra water bottles.I took it out for a 7 hr enduro ride as well and it doesn’t feel like you’re riding with a heavy pack, even with additional food and gear stored of the 7 friends I was riding with. The back protector also gives you a safe feeling, will purchase a water bladder for it later as well.Overal, this was exactly what I was looking for both for my daily commute as well as long rides offroad (it’s super easy to clean as well, just a wet cloth and it’s good as new from mud).Would have preferred a rain cover or the straps to be detachable, but those are minor details that just aren’t worth choosing another backpack.
