I got these because I noticed smells would linger, after cooking or having the door open. I used to get the filtrete 800 I think it was from Walmart and since I have a brand new system, less then 2 yrs old, it kept saying (Nest Learning) that the filter needs to be changed. So, getting these I thought problem solved, wrong, well half solved..the lingering smells are gone and I feel the air quality in the home is such better with these filters, so thank you for that, but... my system tells me they need to be changed 45 days in.. I get 2 each 6 months and my next order isn't due till Sept so I had to go buy a $25 filter to hold me off. - if there is a setting I'm missing on the system, if someone knows let me know but I have to set to remind me each 90 days.. also maybe it senses the dirty filter 45 days in, not sure. Either way, these filters help with air quality and you can breath better as they 'trap' so much more.

nice and thick and sturdy you can tell this actually filters air and does it well, installed these in our upstairs that isnt used very much and can have a sitting kinda smell and this filter with some essential oil and problem no more!

If you live on a country road and have allageies you need this filter

I’ve been using these for several years in my home with two Air handlers and have been extremely impressed . Our family is allergen sensitive and we have pets with the usual dander and have always struggled with dust.Using these filters in conjunction with periodic fan circulation totaling 4 hours per day the reduction in dust and allergens has been significant. Being somewhat of a measurement enthusiast I use a airQuality meter and have seen average reduction in dust levels from around 9.3 Ug/m3 to around 3.4... moreover after 3 months the reduction in airflow as measured at the outlet vent is only about 40 fpm. I know that some have expressed concern over airflow performance but if your system delivers good volume normally this would not be a problem. Systems with marginalAirflow to begin with might have issues. Overall very pleased.

Well 3M makes an excellent product that performs at the level advertised That being said these ones are assembled sloppily with the pleats uneven and bunched and not parallel. I called for a replacement to customer service and received more of the same sloppily assembled filters with an even bunched up plates that we’re not parallel to the frame or each other. That factory got moved to Mexico , you know because we expected 3M to pay a living wage to American workers and pay taxes being a government contractor likely the QC guy was forced into an early retirement.What I received was the equivalent of high-end automotive paint applied with a roller.Product itself is solid but the rushed assembly and oversight by the quality control line well you get what you pay for and they’re obviously paying a lot less for labor.With the pleats bunched up in some places and stretched out in others the longevity and performance is somewhat lessened.

I ordered the filters for my sister in Texas. The filters arrived late but it wasn't the Seller's fault. I contacted the Seller and they made sure the filters were delivered. Great customer service. The filters were perfect fit and easy to install. My sister is very happy with the filters. I will be ordering more for her.

my mother has Asthma and was always sneezing/ problems breathing .. for the last several years we have been used cheap store brand dust only filters on our return vents.. I saw these filters on Amazon & although we considered them too expensive we decided to take a chance.. what a difference they made - no more allergies or sneezing so we are definitely going to buy them again.. however to save money we do subscription through Amazon and change them every 4-6 months (2 to 3 times a year) vs 4 times the manufacture recommends.. - we have had no quality control problem on orders we have received.
