I knew that these were essentially donut holes soaked in syrup, so I had mixed expectations. When I tried them at room temperature yesterday, they were a disappointment because all I could taste was old oil. I put them in the fridge and decided to try them today. The oil appears to have congealed, so I took out a few balls (avoiding the congealed fat), and tried them. The old oil flavor was gone, and they were pleasantly sweet and mildly seasoned. I'm so glad that I decided to try them again, as bad as they were yesterday.
