The sample packet is useful in determining how much grind to add to the pod, use it and take photos as a reference. When I weighed the sample grounds in my pod and base it came to 17g.Using burr ground espresso beans I pack in until the weight is 17-18g and tamper lightly and the crema comes out amazing! It is a little watered down but that's usually as I do the double shot option.The suggestion of filling to the rim and not tampering just led to cap blowout.Overall, only slightly cheaper than the Nespresso pods, better for the environment I guess but it nearly defeats the reason behind the Nespresso as it takes time to do. The real selling point here is the fact you can use your own beans.

This is a great product if you love the nespresso system - i highly recommend the refillable pods to eliminate waste and brew the best coffee a nespresso machine can make. The only problem is it takes a lot of patience, tinkering, practice to get that great result. I went back to a lower tech method that doesnt need the machine.
