Brilliant vacuum robot!
I have owed this Ecovacs vacuum robot for a while now and I decided to write a review, as I never bothered to have something like this before, didn't trust it will help much and it might just waste of money, however, I have changed my point of view after I have been using it. I was very impressed when I saw this beautiful white vacuum robot, it looks very fashion and elegant. And it is not only sweep the floor, it comes with mop as well. I use it mainly for my living room, hall and kitchen where I have wooden floors, it can be controlled by Ecovacs Home APP,just simply scanning the QR code and follow the steps, it can schedule cleanings, start manual cleanings, set different cleaning modes, and more. I programed it to clean at 9pm every day when nobody is downstairs, so every morning I see the floor nice and clean. I have a little puppy and it never stopped chewing different things, so it always leaves bits and pieces of rubbish on the floor, now I can easily clean the floor with the vacuum robot anytime, and my puppy has short hair so I never had any tangle up problems with the robot. Cleaning the floor used to occupied too much of my time, but now the vacuum robot can help and leaves me peace of mind, I saved a lot of time to do other stuff, it is just much better than hovering the floor and mopping it by myself, and it is so easy for it to go under the TV cabinet and dining table. I also have noticed that it would lightly touch the wall or furnitures, but never slam into them.Overall, it does a great job cleaning my wooden floor with normal mode, it runs for a long time, nice and easy to use, nothing complicated, and it really saves me lot of time, good stuff, recommend it 100%.

Pretty good for the price.
Purchase on an Amazon daily deal as we wanted to give a robo-mop a go. Overall pretty good. It failed to setup the first time, which may have been down to an update issue, But once fully connected to our wifi it has been working fine since. We use it to mop a large tiled kitchen floor. The unit can vacs and mops at the same time, so it picks up any debris before the mop at the rear comes into play. There is a water tank and a smaller integrated box for the vac. If the mop attachment is installed then it will mop. There is no way to tell the app just just want to vac if the attachment is in place. It does a good job and expects the water tank to be refilled and the mop cloth to be changed in each clean cycle. But in reality this ensures you are using a clean cloth and have enough water in the tank. We use hot water and add a little detergent ( not recommended by manuf). The cloth use can rinse, wash, and put straight back on the attachment plate. The robo mop wanders around the kitchen following it’s designed method of covering the floor (up and down), and then works on the edges. It avoids larger obstacles and can weave around chairs /tables, but it’s not “smart”. Every times it starts it’s a brand new world for this robot mop. You have to pay another £200 plus for a model that will map and remember your rooms. It happily finds it to home-base after determining its finished it cleaning cycle. The base does need to be accessible and not hidden around a corner. Ours is under a cupboard, with a large area in front, so the Robo mop has a direct approach. The App will notify you if the Robo mop gets struck at all.

Life Changing Hoover
Life Changing Hoover. This review is specific to the Ecovacs DEEBOT U2 Robot Vacuum Cleaner and Mop. I will explain why. This hoover has a mopping option, very good. Also this one has a basic room mapping capability so it knows when it has hoovered the room. Basic mapping as it really works best used one room at a time. Better than some random hoovers out there, and much quicker because of the mapping function. If you want a clever mapping function that remembers the rooms it has mapped. You will need to pay quite a bit more. Had this hoover for a week. It has hoovered the whole house twice, and the house has never been so clean. Just used the mopping function, It is at least as good as the cleaner we used to have. All I have had to manually hoover are the stairs, and front porch. There are the odd corners (but not all) which require attention too. Setting up took 5 minutes, and it connected to our fancy Wi-Fi router instantly. It has done over 8 hours cleaning in less than a week. The Basic maintenance you need to follow is empty the waste container after each hoover otherwise it will stop when it is full. Roller brush and side brushes can collect hair and need cleaning once a week. On the cons this hoover doe snot sense the difference between a hard floor and carpet. You should not mop a carpet with it (rugs/carpet can catch the mopping plate). So it is best to just hoover, or just mop with it. If you cannot lift your rug for mopping there is magnetic tape you can get to let the hoover know not to mop the rug. For me this is not a problem, but there are higher spec models out there that can tell the difference. For a price. Overall very happy with the hoover, and need to spend less time watching it...!

Great little robot hoover - who thought it would be so great for the Oldies?!
We bought this robot hoover for my dad's flat (as he is now finding hoovering a bit of a chore!) and he absolutely loves his little 'sputnik' as he has nicknamed it! It is very well designed and works great on both carpets and hard floors. Keeps on top of any day to day mess and he now runs it once a day and does not need to touch his traditional hoover. The app to control it is easy to use and self explanatory in its setup - and even a 70 year old managed to setup the whole thing by itself. He is amazed that he can activate it from anywhere whilst he is out and about so it does not get under his feet. He says he loves coming back to a clean house and that it has found its way back to the charging base all by itself. The self-mapping function he has found to be very accurate and likes how if he leaves something on the floor it works it way round it. It is also 'low profile' so gets under furniture - such a beds and tables - where hoovering would normally be awkward (or never done!). He sent us a little video of it in action as he is so taken with it - so thought we would include it with this review. So good - probably going to buy another for ourselves in the near future. Top piece of tech!

Died at less than 12 months. Did not honour their "2-year product worry free service"
Bought this less than a year ago. Paid extra for the mopping function. Paid extra for the original replacement parts, paid extra for the Original magnetic boundary strip. When we first bought it home the family were delighted, the kids named "her" Phillipa Bot, and "she" became a valued family member. Reliably cleaning the kitchen and hallway every night. For just 11 months. The mopping function was genius, as I am disabled and unable to bend for mopping, so she took the strain and mopped floors twice weekly. As we have a long haired daughter and a long haired dog, we took care to empty her every night to make sure she didn't get overloaded. As I'd had problems with damp vacuums before, we took particular care to follow the instructions when loading her with water and when cleaning her. Unfortunately, at just shy of 12 months after we purchased (and well within warranty), Phillipa stopped sucking and debris gathered around the brushes. She continued her rounds and continued to sweep, but nothing went into the dust hopper. Not to worry, with the "2 year product worry-free service" I was confident that this could be fixed. I duly contacted Ecovacs, and they helpfully arranged for a free shipping label to send to their repair service. This is when it all went downhill. I was informed that they "found internal water damage, unfortunately this kind of damage is not covered by warranty as it implicates incorrect use of the Deebot." I found this deeply troubling, as I was meticulous in the care of Phillipa. I categorically disputed this, and stated emphatically that the only way that water has been introduced to the machine is through the water unit as part of the mopping function, which is a fundamental part of the machines functionality. If water damage resulted, then I strongly suggest this indicates the machine is either not of satisfactory quality or not fit for the purpose for which it is intended. Nonetheless, they continued to refuse to honour their warranty. They did offer to repair or dispose of the unit. When I enquired about the cost of repair, they quoted an exorbitant fee which was higher than the cost of buying a new one! As the motor was still working when we despatched it back to them, we thought we could at least still use it to sweep. So we requested that they return the unit in the condition that it was supplied back to them. Which they duly did. Unfortunately, Phillipa was not returned back in the same condition she was sent to them, and now she will not charge at all and the motor is totally non-functioning without power. So, here we are, less than 12 months on we are left out of pocket, with a very expensive piece of non-functioning equipment, a set of useless original replacement parts, and a pointless boundary strip, and we are deeply disappointed with their refusal to honour their warranty. So be warned. 1. The mopping unit is not fit for purpose as by using it you are exposing the machine to water which thereby gives them a weasley excuse to "invalidate" the warrant. 2. They are not a trustworthy company and will not honour their warranty.

We wont be replaced by Robots for a long time
Ok, it does some cleaning but room has to be almost empty, no chair, no table, even rogs can confuse this little robot. The main downside is that you dont know what area has been vacuumed. It would be good that app could show the actual patern that the device has been done. Then we could guesstimate what area has been missed. The app shows only that the robot is cleaning zigzag or it is on charge. Other downside is , as soon as it goes to another room, it is almost impossible to return to the charging point. I ended up using it in one room, closing the door, then pick it up and place it in another room. So I may just grab my old Henry and do the job myself. Disappointed but it is fun for kids seeing it moving. If the manufacture is reading this review, please implement robot movement into the app.

My best helper ever!
Recommending this robot with both hands! Very good suction, moping is absolutely perfect. My floor is nicely polished and clean (no carpets or rugs an home). The most important here is, that both functions are working together, so vacuuming and mopping in one go, which is brilliant! Remote control is not something really impressive, It’s basically on and off, plus some a bit extra, but this is fine for me. Absolutely worth the money!

Helpful gadget
Enjoyed using this DEEBOT so far, I has two different suction levels I recommend full power . It does a fairly good job providing not too many obstacles etc Fairly quiet and saves time when doing other jobs I have yet to use the mop feature so cannot comment but I would recommend, battery life isn’t the best but is enough to clean downstairs. In bigger house it may not be sufficient DEEBOT initially makes a map of your house and learns this for future cleans as you notice it becomes more sufficient, it isn’t too loud I don’t mind running it in the evening when going to bed , I like how even without using the app via phone DEEBOT will be able to return to charge when running low on power . The dock it self is easily hidden I store mine under a recliner chair in my kitchen and DEEBOT return no problems ! Occasionally deebot say it’s sensors need cleaning from usually trapped hair etc and the container does fill up fairly quickly as it’s only small so will need emptying regularly so more Maintenance is required. I do love smart home gadgets and would recommend to those who do, (I have 4 hoovers) however realistically you could just clean up yourself in less time than this runs for! 4 stars from me
