The OEM bulbs cost around $300. If this one dies after 600 hours, it's still worth the price to buy 6 of them for the price of the oem bulb. The brightness is great. Seems like a quality bulb. The only downside is that occasionally my Panasonic PT-AX100u will not turn on now and throw a red bulb light. If I unplug the power and just turn it on again, it works. This has happened 5 or 6 times in the past couple months I've owned the bulb. I'll update this again later if it expires prematurely or conversely lasts for 3000 hours. =)*Update: 3,000 hours and still going strong! Had to reset my lamp replace indicator!
