Is this dust bath clean? For example there are no ameobas present?

This dust sent my chinchilla (and others in reviews) to the ER with breathing problems and nose discharge. I feel so bad for the poor thing. With so many animals having the same problem with this product I can't believe they are still allowed to sell it.

Is aluminum silicate dust hazardous to breathe?

Why did this get hard when wet?

The product should not be exposed to water. The product is 100% pumice ground into a fine grade and is intended for use with Chinchillas for dry dust bathing only. The dust is an off white/grayish color.
