will this work in fountain pens?

In my experience no. It clogs the pen easily. You can easily wash it off with warm water and it will peel like a skin but I have had zero luck when it comes to fountain pens and this ink.

If I erase will it smear

I'm my experience, no, but I do a lot of inking on blue line or with a light pad. When I do ink over pencils I tend to wait at least ten minutes before erasing. If you want an ink that is sure to not smear when erased, I think the DELETER black no. 2 is the one you want.

Can this ink do ink washes?

Yes, it's as good if not better than any other India ink.

What is everyone using to apply it? This is cheaper than ones with applicators. A small brush maybe? Recommendations?

Yeah a small brush works, on its own it's too thick to use with anything else but you can dilute it with water in order to use it with pen nibs or as fade effect on watercolor as well, bare in mind this is a VERY white tone so if the paper you're using is yellowish it will look a bit out of place

Great for markers but its not as liquid as the others. I like it, it does its job and does it great

Excellent ink. It is very thick, so it does not work with a dip pen (you could dilute it. I haven't tried, but I don't see why not). I prefer to apply it using dotting tools or a silicon brush. It is very opaque and completely covers other inks and watercolor without any fading or discoloration, which is awesome! Better than any other white pen or ink I've tried.

Je suis fan des encres Deleter. Une belle tenue, l'encre sèche bien et ne laisse pas de trace au gommage du Line. Par contre faut vraiment attendre avant de gommer. Le pot en lui même n'est pas top de chez top, il est léger, un accident est vite arrivé. Parfois j'ai une bulle qui se forme à l'ouverture du pot, elle s'éclate facilement mais ça crée des projections d'encre partout si on ne fait pas gaffe. C'est pour le pot que je retire une étoile. Sinon l'encre elle même est nickel

Habitué à utiliser le même matériel pour l'encre de chine depuis des années (pointe atome de BIC et encre noire Conté) j'ai décidé de changer récemment... et cette encre est la meilleure que j'ai eu l'occasion de travailler. D'un noir intense et homogène, qui sèche ni trop vite, ni trop lentement. Parfaite. On peut regretter que le flacon ne soit pas aussi ergonomique que l'encre ZIG Kuretake (qui est aussi une très bonne encore), mais son extrême qualité fait oublier tout le reste.
