The Tim Mee PATTON PLATOON Tank Division is ready for redeployment! These #729 M48 Patton Tanks are proudly manufactured in the United States and available in this 3 piece set. Each tank features a turret that rotates, measures 6.5 inches long and is approximately 1:48 scale. Made from slightly stiff olive green color HDPE plastic with lots of crisp detail and very little flashing. Modeled after the M48A2 Patton tank, Tim Mee first produced this toy in 1964 and modified the tooling several times over the decades until the final version seen here. We're extra pleased with this reissue to reintroduce the classic stars and serial number stickers that were discontinued more than 20 years ago. As an extra bonus, stickers include new mini-stars and a Tim Mee logo that can be used to identify your favorite hero vehicle. The stickers are supplied on a sheet and placement instructions are included on the back of the package. This is likely the most popular and widely copied toy tank of all time. These are real toys, meant to be set up, knocked over, picked up and played with for years to come. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Wrong Scale for 'Army Men'
These are great quality tanks and they would be an excellent choice for any boy who likes military toys. The problem is their scale. Toy soldiers are offered in a wide variety of sizes. However, classic American army men are generally 1/32-1/35 scale. These tanks are 1/48 scale, making them appear much too small for those soldiers. The item is listed as 'tanks for army men.' Timmee's own army men (which are awesome) are 1/32. I've purchased their other army vehicles and the scale matches up to their soldiers just fine. It was my mistake for not paying attention, but why would this one item be made out of proportion to the rest of the product line?I found and purchased the perfect alternative - 1/32 scale tanks made by BMC (owned by the same company as Timmee). Both companies offer quality products. My green and tan soldiers are now fully equipped for battle!

Toddler Tough and Made in the U.S.
My husband picked these out for our toddler, who has entered his tank obsession phase. I thought they were a little pricey, but I don't regret it. They are extremely durable - they take a lot of drops/throws/smashes well, and don't bend or damage like cheaper toys would. Very well made and would buy again.

Tanks for the Memories
These are just like the ones I played with as a kid and still enjoy collecting today. These are high-quality and made in the USA. Unfortunately, they are a bit small for 54mm wargames... but only a bit. They do work just fine as low-cost, high quality armor for 1/48th scale figures, though. They are also just fine for sandbox wars when your Greens need that little something extra to repel the Tan menace. If Tim Mee would make these in true 54mm scale, that would be awesome and I'd be lining up to give them five stars... but until that day comes, these are pretty nice and the price is right.

Excellent Quality
These are high quality versions of the Army Men I played with as a kid. They are MUCH better quality than other brands that look similar.
