Must Buy!
This thing is worth every penny! This thing completely changed my Camp Chef Smoke Pro!I was really happy with my CC but I had a grease fire and it killed my RTD probe so I decided to splurge and replace the probe as well as the control board with this unit.I just installed it and haven't gotten to cook with it yet, but I did get to fire it up for a while. The installation was extremely easy. I did it at night holding a flashlight in my teeth. Wasn't hard at all. Plugged right in. The colored wires didn't match up but it was pretty easy to figure out after matching up the Camp Chef diagram with the Smoke Daddy diagram.I fired it up and the fan did sound a lot different, surging, speeding up and slowing down, but I expected that after watching some YouTube videos. This thing kept the temps extremely tight after it ran for 10 minutes or so. After it really settled in I only saw a +/- 2° swing. Very impressive.I do have a blanket over my Camp Chef and it was about 50° out, so there's that. The only issue was that I mounted the adapter plate, then the P.I.D. unit didn't set flush against the adapter plate because the bottom screw connecting the adapter plate to the hopper was protruding a bit and the P.I.D. unit was setting against that. I removed the screw and everything set flush. I'll tap another hole in a different position nbd.Excited to cook with this thing tomorrow. I'll update my review after a while.Update #1:Smoked a turkey yesterday. This thing performed flawlessly. It really does constantly monitor temps and adjust the fan accordingly. It heald rock-steady at whatever temp I set it at. It seems like the constant change in fan speed might produce a little more smoke as well. It may also be burning a little less pellets? I'll have to use it some more to really know for sure. Very happy with the performance so far.

Worth every penny
First off you do NOT need to drill a bigger hole in your Traeger to fit the RTD temp rod! All you need to do is remove the plastic coupler from the pins (see pic1). Just use a pin or thumbtack to unclip them from the plastic. You can then just feed the wires through no problem.About 1 year ago I purchased a Traeger "Pro" 22. I specifically got the "Pro" version because they claimed better accuracy etc. From the start I was plagued with huge temperature variations and flame outs. If I set the temperature below 275 I was pretty much guaranteed a flame out and a PITA re-start. Over the last year I tried everything including Traeger tech support but could never get a consistent temp. That was until I tossed the Traeger “Pro” controller and replaced it with this Pellet Pro PID. Man what a difference this thing makes. I went from +-80 temperature swings to +-3. The only time I get any sort of change is when I open the lid. I have yet to do a long smoke with the pellet pro but so far so good. No flameouts or huge temp swings. This has been my best smoking accessory purchase since I purchased my Fireboard. I’ve also been able to reach 425+ temps that I couldn’t using the Traeger controller. So far I’ve only tested at 225, 375, and 425 (burgers, Cookies, and Pizza). The pellet pro is very consistent at the higher temps with only small fluctuations at lower temps. I’ve attached a picture of the difference recorded by my Fireboard. I’m using the stock Traeger Pro fan and auger motor and have not had any issues with burn back. I just wish I could go back in time and tell myself to not buy the Traeger and instead get a Pellet Pro smoker instead.Pros:- No more crazy temperature swings- Easy to use and control temps- The feed button is a nice feature.- Easy to install (yes wire color didn’t match but that is to be expected with a product that works with multiple units)- Did I mention no more flame outs!Cons:- Most expensive aftermarket controller.- Push buttons (not a big fan would like a switch and knob).- If power is interrupted the pellet pro will be in the off state. I would like last state instead.- LCD can be hard to read in sunlight.P.S. Don’t freak out when your smoker makes odd fan noises when it is running. The pellet Pro pulses both the fan and auger to better control temperature.

Good Product Overall
Product works very well and holds the temp within a few degrees. I highly recommend. It also gets hotter than the old Treager controller I had.Only thing I think that could be improved is the button quality. They are kind of hard to read and seem like they will peel and fade. Time will tell how the buttons hold up.

Finally a setting between 185 and 225! Thank you Smoke Daddy.
Easy install, loving the new temp settings. My smoker was either 185 or 225 but I wanted 200. This PID allows for that. Highly recommend this PID. Tip: Empty your pellets before you start :)

This is AWESOME!! *Updated Sep. 29, 2019
This works EXACTLY as advertised. I love it!!As you can see in the pic the Smoke Daddy controller is reading256 degrees and the Thermoworks is reading an internal grill temp of251 degrees. Right on the money!!The Smoke Daddy controller has stopped all those ridiculous temp fluctuations that the grill has been doing. Thats a number one complaint pellet grill owners have. It feeds pellets as needed and I'm not using any more pellets than usual. I'm probably saving them. This is a great investment and upgrade for pellet grill owners. If you have a pellet grill you really should have this controller and it's very, very easy to install also.I HIGHLY recommend the Smoke Daddy PID Controller, and their website is awesome too.I've spoken to the owner Dennis at Smoke Daddy and he's a really nice guy and is very knowledgeable about all kinds of pellet grills. Buy this this thing folks!UPDATE Sept. 28, 2019 In the 2nd picture that I added you can see that the outside temperature is about 64゚, but it was a little cooler than that with rain here in Chicago. I have my Smoke Daddy controller set at 420 degrees and you can see how close to that the Smoke Daddy controller gets the temperature, not to mention that it stayed at 420 for quite some time too. It was cold and rainy when the picture was taken and this controller held temp just right. It works absolutely great!!
