Psycho-Pass 2 - Season 2 [Blu-ray]
A**.
Challenges Your Perspective in How You Perceive Certain Concepts.
- Synopsis: About a year has passed since the events that unfolded in the first season. Akane is in charge of new enforces and a few familiar faces. Another unique threat disrupts the peace once again. This time around, there is a mysterious individual who claims that they can lower the crime coefficient of those they talk to. Could this person have discovered a method that nobody else knows about? Or is it simply the claims of someone delusional? Tune in to find out.===========================================================================================================- Comments: Wish it was a bit longer but still a nice sequel to the first one. Akane has come a long way since episode one of the first season. Like in Cross Ange, it is a bit bittersweet to see someone have to become really tough to survive. This anime is very interesting and will have you question many things and may have you challenge the perspective you have on certain aspects in life. Such as ethics and their justifications. The references to certain people from the books the characters read is pretty nice too. But unless you take interest in philosophy and the like, that probably wouldn't matter.- Analysis: English and Japanese audio with English subtitles. Includes 11 episodes on 2 DVDs, and 11 episodes on 2 Blu-rays. Has an approximate run-time of 4.5 hours and is rated TV-MA for violence, blood and gore, and language.- Conclusion: Overall, great series in general and can be educational and leave you in suspense. I would also recommend watching the movie after seeing this one as well. To help give the viewer more closure from the series. The Psycho-Pass series is excellent for more mature viewers that enjoy dialogue-heavy and thought-provoking animes.===========================================================================================================- Recommendations: Code:Breaker, Chaos:Head, Steins;Gate, Tokyo ESP, K, Tokyo Ghoul, Daphne in the Brilliant Blue, Ghost in the Shell, Bakemonogatari, and Cross Ange.

Not as good as the first season.
Nowhere near as brave as the first season when it comes to killing off characters. Also felt more exploitative than the first Season in terms of fanservice (it's an anime, you know what that means) and the twist IIRC was difficult to make sense of.Regarding the Blu-Ray, it's lovely to see the art of this series without the rampant compression artifacting inherent in streaming it.Lots of good lore development / world building though, so fans of that aspect of the first season will be pleased.

Falls just short of Season 1
**No Spoilers**A much desired continuation of the series that fails to live up to the first season. While this is quite enjoyable and fun to watch, the story seems like it a bit more of a stretch at points unlike season 1.If you liked Season 1, be prepared for a slightly different way of story telling.I do recommend this to anyone that liked season 1, but if you were on the fence about Season 1, maybe you pass here.

Doesn't break any new ground but definitely a nice story arc for the fans!
The second season of Psycho Pass doesn't expand the universe or progress the story much. It's simply an additional adventure or story arc built from the world already created. If you watch it with that perspective in mind, as a fan you'll enjoy it. It's simply a nice "in-between" story that takes place between the 1st season and movie. It's an Akane-focused story, as Shinya Kogami is not in this adventure (except for a few cameos), but I enjoyed watching the heroics of a more mature Akane as she leads her team, mentors an upstart rookie inspector, and solves a new mystery. Also, she's put through some serious trauma during the final two episodes, and it was real interesting to see how she would react to it.Psycho Pass season 2 doesn't break any new ground; it's more of the same. Nothing new and nothing terrible (wanted to see a bit more action though), and it held my attention, so I give it a 3 out of 5.

Great continuation of the first season
The continuation of Psycho Pass. It's a great series, but season two doesn't quite live up to the hype of season one. Nevertheless, it's still great, and worth watching.Though the only reason why I'm knocking off a star was by the poor packaging and handling of this product. The Blu-ray case was damaged upon receiving it. Quite unhappy about that.

New Perspective
Personally I love everything about this anime! I agree with some of the other reviewers that this season may not be quite as thorough and in depth as the first season. But understandably, the first season more or less had to provide the exposition about all the working wheels within the wheels of the world in which this anime takes place. Nevertheless, the second season is a necessary continuation of the greater goal of the anime as a thought experiment of what a world in which all the psychological judgements and consequences can be determined by a system alone which cannot correctly make such judgements of all beings unless it too has an organic foundation that can be cultivated and adapt in order to better understand the complexities of the human condition.

Great series
Even though many fans disliked Season 2, I had no problem with it since I look at each season for an anime independently. I thought the new cast members were welcome additions and the new villains interesting.

The Blu-ray works on UK players
This is going to be a review of the case and extra content because I assume that, if you are thinking about buying this show, you've already seen it and have decided you liked it enough to purchase the physical copy. The Blu-ray discs work on UK players without any issue and it also comes with the DVD version of the show so you should be able to watch it regardless. The case is nothing special. Holds the discs and has nice artwork, can't ask for much else. The extras include audio and video commentaries from the English cast and director for episodes 4, 8 and 10 (The video commentary for episode 10 ends with outtakes from the English cast)It's a little expensive but all in all it's worth buying if you like the series.
