Calming, Beautiful Book
My 2.5 year old absolutely loves this simple poetic book! As other reviews mentioned, there is minimal story… it’s just a turtle family going on a long walk and experiencing the change of seasons. But my kiddo loves it. He likes to describe what is happening in each picture. He gets excited as they slide down the snowy hill and pass by all the scenes. We have so many beautiful books, but this one stands out for its simplicity. It’s a welcome change of pace to have so few words.

Cute simple book
The media could not be loaded. Simple and repetitive for kiddos. The turtle family goes on a long walk through the seasons. “Are we there yet? No.”They finally reach their fun destination in the winter.

Spare text plus gorgeous illustrations = completely satisfying story
This story, told with few words (68! I counted!) and beautiful watercolor illustrations, is about a turtle family walking through the seasons to their winter home. I loved the repetition of the text and the surprise ending that tweaks that repetition slightly. I love the cover art, with the colors of the letters representing the four seasons. And the illustrations beautifully mark the passage of time. The language is simple enough for an early reader, and all kids love turtles!

Fun book about turtles and seasons
“Turtle walk, nice and slow, here we go. Are we there yet? No.”We love this Book so much we made it into a song… We sing it in the car, at the park, and at the zoo. I’m sure that as my child grows we will also make it into a game of catch. This book features four turtles that are on an adventure. The catch? Because they’re so slow it takes them ages to reach their destination. You get to experience the seasons with these turtles: the snow melting and flowers blooming in spring, children playing with bubbles and playground equipment in summer, the leaves changing and pumpkin patches of autumn, and the thick blanket of winter snow.My daughter is 18 months old, and is in love with this book. I am sure that she will like it up until she’s four years old or more. The actual book is relatively durable. We borrowed it from the library, And there’s absolutely no sign of wear. We ended up ordering our own copy because she loved it so much.
