when it first came it was Tiny I laughed at it. then I mixed up a batter of waffle mix. it would have handled three times what I usually make. I poured the mix into it and then I got a smile on my face I love this thing. just don't make your mix real real watered down. if you put water in it water just leaks right out. you don't have to make the batter super thick just don't make it super thin. remember it holds more than it looks like it does

I always wanted one of these, I have a terrible time ladling pancake mix consistently. I haven't used it except once and it worked as expected though I need a little practice. This held nearly all of my mix for 6 medium pancakes, so it's pretty good sized. Just a simple container with a grip handle that you squeeze when you want it to pour a stream of mix into your pan. I have to say it does make creating a round shape much easier! I saw several types of these, mostly plastic, but this is a nice stainless steel so I purchased it for that reason. Also, it looks good in my cupboard of gadgets, who can live without another convenience anyway? The price was certainly good compared to what the plastic fancy units are selling for. This may be a simple version but it is a tried and true design, time-tested in restaurants, and that makes it worth it to me.

My daughter loves to make pancakes so I bought this for a christmas present. It works great. Depending on batter thickness, it takes a second for it to flow through the hole. So far it has been easy to clean. I have put it in the dishwasher and it did fine. Material is strong and durable. According to her the hole is not big enough for a chocolate chip to flow through so she had to to add those to the batter afterward. :) The only con is it only holds about 2.5 cups of batter at a time. Wish it was slightly bigger.

For those who complain it leaks... you need a new pancake recipe. As long as you don't make watery, drippy, thin pancakes, this is a great product. I used it for the first time last weekend. It worked great. I think there was a drip or two, but for the price, this is fantastic. Using this made less mess than using a ladle and dripping it across the griddle and on the counter top. Plus, I can have the kids make pancakes as well.UPDATE:I have now owned this for over a year now. It has been cleaned in the dishwasher numerous times and it still works like it did when I bought it. Leaves a few drips, but putting a paper towel underneath it while it sits makes it work and clean up easily. For the price, this is still a great product.

They advertised "stainless steel" however as as the picture shows it had accumulated rust spots two days after a hand wash and dry. Though it has a beautiful motif, it's not worth a plug nickel!

I read all the negative reviews about the pancake batter dispenser leaking and runing all over the place that it made me almost not get this item. I am glad I purchased the dispenser and it works great! As for the leaking it only leaked about a 1/2 tsp of batter when placed on the resting plate. That was not enough for me two say the product does not work.What I love about this product is that it holds alot of batter, dispenses quick, and the pancakes are nice and round. You can dispense to the next pancake without worring if the batter will run all over the griddle. The batter washes off the stainless steel dispenser easy, quick, and squeaky clean.
