This is the best record brush I have ever used the brush is used for cleaning dust and dirt off of the record before playing. It does not clean the smudges on record and dirt that gets into the groves. To clean the smudges and dirt in the vinyl grooves you need to clean your records. The best way to clean records is to buy a record cleaning machine they vary in price. From very expensive to fairly cheap. I clean my records myself and do not use a machine. You can go on to you tube and see all the different ways to clean records. Pick the one you think is right for you and your budget. **Q: How do i use a multimeter to test this product?** A: I have no idea who these people are saying this brush works well. Believe the bad reviews. I'm sorry I didn't. This brush quite literally creates massive static.. One of the reviewers tested this as you suggested and the test results prove it creates static. The micro fibers also fall off and stick to the record. It oead to scratching a brand new expensive pressing of mine. I'm furious about it and trashed the brush. I can't express to you enough how much you should avoid this brush. **Q: How do you remove particles off of the brush?** A: The brush handle has a slightly raised lip inside of it, specifically for this purpose. Just swivel the brush back and forth inside the handle a few times, and any accumulated particles will be removed from the brush fibers. **Q: Do I need to use a liquid product or alcohol or just the brush itself?** A: No liquid cleaner is required to use with the brush (in fact, we advise against it). It gets in deep and lifts all the dust out. I bought it in a bundle with Boundless Audio Record Cleaning Solution - 6.75oz Vinyl Record Cleaner Fluid & Vinyl Cleaner Cloth & Record Label Protector along with Stylus Cleaner Brush - Carbon Fiber Anti-Static Stylus Brush for Turntable Needle Cleaning. The brush and the record cleaner are very good, best I have used. The solution with a micro fiber cloth seemed weird but I was surprised how well it works. I cleaned up my old original 70's record pronounced Lynyrd Skynyrd that over the decades has been played countless times. Had finger prints and looked like it was a very old record. I was blown away how clean I got it, and it looks like the fluid conditions the record, last time it looked this good was when it was new back in I think I got it in 1974. listen to the record and still sounds great. So I pulled out the Street Survivors LP also so old I got it before the crash it's got the flames on the cover for you that remember. This record I did not like as well as the others so it was in great shape and not been pulled out since probably the 80's. When I switched over to CD's. Some how all them decades of storage it got dusty sitting in the jacket, also had a couple fingerprints. I cleaned it up and it looks new! So buy this stuff you will love it, also has a label protector so you don't get over spray on it, that is very cool and easy to use.
