KALCalcium Citrate Chewable 60 Tablets

I have been taking these chewable calciums for over a year now. I like the flavor better than any of the others I have tried. They have a nice fruity flavor. I usually suck on these like a candy rather than chew them, you get way less of a chalky taste that way. Try it! For those who posted there is too much 'dust', you are going to have that with any pressed supplement, I get that with my chewable vitamins. I like these so much I always buy 4 bottles at a time. Serving size is 2 tablets (250 mg each). Highly recommend these

The tablets are large, powdery, chalky, and hard. They have a very slight fruit taste. I only took two tablets. A few hours later, I had a really bad reaction to them. Because there are so many different ingredients in this supplement, I am not sure what ingredients I was sensitive to. I have also read that many calcium supplements contain lead. That is why it is better to get calcium from the food you eat.

My doctor wants me to take at least 1200 mg of calcium a day in citrate form. I ordered this as a way to meet my calcium needs. I don't like swallowing pills and while I do have a liquid calcium supplement, I have to store it in the fridge and usually forget to take it. Like other reviews have said, the tablets are large and chalky but frankly I don't care and I find the flavor to be okay. The reason I rated this low is that the online label and description are deceptive. The packages I received disclosed that these tablets contain ingredients known to cause REPRODUCTIVE HARM and BIRTH DEFECTS.

I have been buying this brand of chewable calcium/magnesium at my local health food store for several years, but often they are out of stock. I will be buying it here on Amazon now. I think it's the best chewable I've tried that has the combined calcium and magnesium, with a little vitamin D included. It's not as chalky as many I've had. The fruit flavor is a bit intense for awhile after opening the container, but seems to mellow out over time (maybe air and moisture affects it). Also I find that if I take a sip of water when I begin to chew the wafer, it will prevent the dry particles that can get into your throat sometimes with this kind of product. Breaking it in half and chewing one half at a time is also helpful.

I ordered this as well as Metagenics Cal-Apatite chewable calcium (chocolate flavor), and hands down prefer the latter. This product is overly sour (and I like sour/tart tastes in general), so that as you're trying to chew it up your eyebrows raise, your face crunches up and your jaw would hurt if you were to laugh. Also (and this might partially be due to handling during shipping), these wafers are coated in an extreme amount of powder from the broken ones inside. No kidding, if you try to pour a few wafers into your hand, get the vacuum ready. And if you try to reach in with your fingers to grab your dose, your fingers and knuckles will emerge coated in powder and you'll need to wash your hands. I've also learned not to inhale while putting one in my mouth, the powder will get into your throat and gag you! I give it 2 stars because for all I know, once it's down the hatch it's great. But I'm sticking with the other product.
