These are made in China. I wish Amazon had a policy about listing where things were made. Had I known, I would have bought something else.

Is the non-stick coating worth the extra cost?

I find the non-stick coating on the cutting blades very helpful as this means they do not need as much cleaning as other pruning snips / cutters that I have used. I think the coating helps to keep it sharp. Whether it is the coating or the metal they used to make the blades, this snip is very, very sharp and cuts cleanly. I find it very useful for more refined work such as snipping leaves, ornamental grasses, soft plant stems, etc. which secateurs have a tough job handling because they are too big for the job or do not cut as cleanly. The only problem I have is the blades keep locking shut together when I grip /hold the handles too close to the orange lock while using the snip. But it does not feel natural to grip / hold the handles near their ends further away from the orange lock because of the shape of the handles - could have been more ergonomically designed.

can i use it to cut branches

They use trimming individual flowers , trimming house plants. Not branches.

What is the difference between 399241-1002 and the "2020 version"?

I don't know but I can tell you these are the most annoying snips on the market. The locking mechanism has to be rethought. It locks every two or three snips. Also, they pinch my hand; I have to hold them in a certain way to avoid that happening...There are other pruning snips on the market that are much better.

The original product is from Finland. The one that was shipped to me was made in China, the quality is comparable to the original by the looks of it. Have not used it extensively ... will review again when I have used it for a year.

J'ai fait l'acquisition de ces ciseaux en deux exemplaires, les deux sont d'excellente qualité, fournis avec un 'fourreau' en plastique pour éviter d'abîmer la pointe et de se blesser. Ils coupent très bien (comme tous les produits Fiskars) et demandent très peu de forces, les personnes handicapées sauront donc l'utiliser sans difficulté, grâce à un système de ressort très bien pensé. Je les ai utilisés intensivement pour la coupe de feuilles, ils sont tellement précis que je ne peux plus m'en passer ! Un super achat, je recommande vivement à tous ceux qui cherchent des ciseaux de qualité avec une bonne longévité, vraiment, rien à redire !
