I installed this to my electric bike with a 2 seater bike trailer. It worksike a champ. I feel very safe with this one vs my old one that doesn't have as many perks. This was also cheaper and I was able to give my dad the second one for his same set up that I have and he's super happy with my purchase too.

I purchased this item specifically because it has two sets of holes and is compatible with both old and new instep trailers, but it only has the vertical holes and is of no use to me. Very unfortunate, it took a while to find this and by the time it came in kiddo was excited to go for a ride and we're back to square one.

These are better than the ones that come with the trailers, as they have 2 sets of holes that you can use. They are compatible with trailers with the old style mount and new style mount because of this. I have an old instep and a new instep. The difference in mounts in the old one comes off the bike at a 90 degree angle, which puts bend in the tow spring when you are going straight. The new one has a tube that comes off at an angle to match the tow spring. This does not put torque in the spring when riding straight. It seems like the old trailer would work on the new mount, but the new trailer would not work on the old mount. The instep old mount has the retention pin 90 degree off from the new mount to make it so you can not mix and match trailers and mounts. I figure both trailers with well with the new mount design and updated all of my bikes to use the new mount. The pin latch design is also easier to latch and unlatch.

Solid couplers. Fit my trailer perfectly. They feel very solid and I have pulled my daughter in her bike trailer many times with no concerns.

Was worried it would work with the bike attachment but did perfectly (toddler double seater) and the price was a steal at the moment!
