This book is a comprehensive guide to herbs, and teaches you exactly how to use these herbs for various ailments and diseases. While I have no issues with doctors or medicine, sometimes I do with some things could be treated in a more natural way. This book has helped me realize that this is entirely possible.

I read this book in an hour. Now I want to garden. Very informative. This will help me be more selective with my at home remedies

Not everyone has great health insurance or is interested in western medicine being their first choice. This book shows you the ways Native American elders have treated various illnesses and issues. I think, even if you don't believe herbs and plants can heal, this book will open your mind to at least considering this time tested wisdom. I learned a lot from this book like that American ginseng can alleviate cild and flu symptoms or act as a laxative. Overall, I found this book very informative.

I like to read the writings of the book. I urge everyone to read this.I highly recommend this book.

I payed for a NEW book, why is it so dirty and stained looking as if it was used without being properly cared for!? Unfortunately my camera is lacking so I don't think the pictures came out so well, looks worse in person. Also its kind of hard to read bc the wording goes into the spine, you'll have to bend it to properly read it. But I have been excited to receive this book.

This is the second herbalist book I've ordered in my search to find one I'll actually use. It's also the second herbalist book I've ended up returning. I'm really happy to say that I recently found one that I absolutely love, but I'm disappointed it wasn't this one.As beautiful as this book is and as promising as it appeared, it was surprisingly disappointing. It wasn't the vague illustrations that turned me off from the book. It was the vague instructions. There wasn't enough information to really help a beginner... begin.Now, in defence of the book, there's nowhere I can see where it claims to be for beginners specifically. But it does have the word "Encyclopedia" in its title, so I made the assumption that it would have ample info for someone just starting out.I can see how someone who knows beyond a beginner's level of herbalism can perhaps enjoy this book. However, I feel that it's not a starter book at all and wouldn't add much value to someone who already knows what they're doing. Again, the cover is beautiful and it's not exactly bad writing. It's just not the encyclopedia it claims to be and doesn't have the kind of visuals you might like from such a book.

Was hoping for something more in depth and with closer ties to indigenous beliefs. This felt like a cheaply thrown together book covering most entries found in any popular apothecary or 'magical plant' use kind of book. Just buy 'Braiding Sweetgrass' instead of this.
