Great head unit
Great head unit. A lot of connectors to consider but can be installed by a novice. Integration with stock back up camera if you have it. Comes with a controller that allows you to use the steering wheel controls. Built in navigation which is nice. If you by a video in motion bypass, you can watch movies (useful for passengers) while driving. Settings do need to be changed immediately, as out of the box the music stops playing when backing up. Also changes in the climate control automatically takes you to that screen. These are easily turned off though.NOTE: This will not display the dash screen information for the phone, music, or navigation. That functionality is gone. If you are looking to retain this, then do not get this unit. You do get to keep the vehicle information page, but the other pages to access the phone/music/other is no longer there.Seller: They were amazing sellers. I had everything installed, then checked again online and noticed that the price had dropped by 700. I contact the retailer directly and they were quick to refund the money. Would definitely buy from them again.

I’m very happy with the unit
I’m very happy with the unit. This was my first vehicle radio change and it was kinda tough but was able to install with no major complications. Back up camera quality isn’t great but picture and sound quality are on point. Haven’t used the gps yet but I never like vehicle installed gps anyway so I’ll probably end up using my iPhone if I don’t like it. Very happy with this unit.

Insert cash here.. Bang head there..
Looks AMAZING.... when it is off... the graphics look about mid 2006, the panel is not responsive when selecting sources, or much else for that matter. this has to be the most overprice piece of %#$%^t ever created by alpine or by anyone for that matter. It does have a 9 band parametric eq with 3 presets....... like 4 layers deep, so if you want to quickly select different custom tunes think again... oh that's okay, it has 20 different preset tunings for rock, rap, country ect... again 4 layers deep through a slow sluggish horrible piece of hardware. Honestly the list goes on and on, you do not retain the full hands free functionality of an android bordering on false advertisement, degrades the camera quality, is slow to actually allow you the hear or be heard by your caller when receiving a call, resulting in 10 - 20 seconds of are you there? Sat nav!!!! what a joke, I cant describe how painful it is to type in an address when it takes 2 years for this pos to register a key stroke and then pray it actually locates you within 300 feet. Customization.... nope, you can change a few minor things like background color, but change how you seek through radio stations nope, change steering wheel functions... nope, use the favorite feature to favorite a menu option (like presets) nope. Just about every "feature" of this product is either ruined by its anemic responsiveness or is lacking in forethought. At the msrp of 4,000.00 bucks this thing should be as fast as any $1,000.00 pc but is more like a budget model from 2002. Also for gouging your customers with this crap the CEO should do the honorable thing stop wasting oxygen. this unit while somewhat stylish except for the ridiculously huge crystal buttons hey to each his own, is barely worth 300 bucks compared to the competition in this price range, or quadruple the price range. Would I recommend to a friend hell not I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy... 40 years of respect for alpine trashed!!!! Guys you can build a 1000 bridges but if you.... uh google the rest good day.

it looks great and sounds great
Let's start with the positives...it looks great and sounds great. Unfortunately, that's where it stops. Voice command calling does not work. My factory head unit would read text messages while I was driving, this one does not. I used my factory back up camera with this set up and the image use to be clear as day and now with the alpine it is horrible. There is a big lag time from starting The truck and having The phone pair with it via blue tooth which was not an issue with The factory unit. The navigation is slow and constantly searching for GPS. I had this professionally installed by an authorized alpine dealer and they could not get any of the above to work or improve. Unfortunately there were no reviews around when I purchased this item. But I would not have purchased if I had known I would lose certain features. I'm a big fan of alpine, I just wish they would have spent a little more time and effort on this unit, especially considering the price. I would not recommend this unit.

Took it to an Alpine dealer to have it professionally ...
Took it to an Alpine dealer to have it professionally installed and the dvd player does not work. Now the shop has to remove it and I have to ship it bak and wait for a new one. A very big inconvenience.
