Mr. Romweber doses his surf and punkabilly hi-jinx with just enough sideways sophistication to keep things appealingly just a touch off center. The highly charged churn guitarist Dex and sibling drummer Sara generate is marked with the occasional left turn, progression wise, or the unexpected metric. When in ballad mode, the line between the true-hearted and the tongue-in-cheek doesn’t always seem so sharp, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Strong tracks include “Roll On”, “So Sad About Us” and “Blue Surf”. (Duane Verh, Roots Music Report)

3rd album our of Athens, Georgia from former leader of the Flat Duo Jets and his sister, Sara (Let's Active, Snatches Of Pink). This is American roots-based rock `n' roll with a heavy dose of country/blues at the core; plus a smattering of spectacularly gritty surf-rock licks, a psych-pop gem, a soulful Elvis-like 50s style ballad, a hand-clapping back-porch stomper, and a song with an amplified saw. The songs ring with an irresistibly pure, gutsy and natural authenticity, and Romweber's guitar work is stellar! Includes covers of the Who, Johnny Burnette, Jackie DeShannon. Reminiscent of John Doe, The Reigning Sound, Reverend Horton Heat, Los Straightjackets, the Black Keys, Wanda Jackson. Excellent.

A FIVE STAR RECORDING from The Dex (and Sara) Romweber Duo. If you are not fortunate enough to see this dynamic duo perform live please, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of this rockin' album. PostScript: I probably should have mentioned this is not a "verified" purchase due to the fact that I purchased the album (and some other fabulous bits of memorabilia), at their show in Cleveland, Ohio at the Grog Shop (I love the place), if you have the chance you really must check the place out @TheGrogShop), and YES, it was an InFuckingCredible show. We, my daughter, and I had the opportunity to sit down with Dex while Sara did the hard and dirty work of prepping 🙊 and had a lovely chat...
