Hoping for a family friendly gift option...** A: Bare pages! Every single one of ‘em! 100 paper porn! Probably not the best choice as a family friend gift option... but then again... why not? You can always cover the pages with black charcoal sketches and make it family friendly! **Q: do you have to be good at drawing?** A: Nope! But filling these with drawings, especially drawing things you can see in front of you, will slowly make you good at drawing. personally Strathmore makes my favorite sketch paper. Something about its texture and how it picks up your pencil/ink is just "right" to me. **Q: will pens bleed through these paper pads** A: I actually have not tried pens on the sketch pad , but I can say that the sheets are pretty thick and you might not encounter that problem. **Q: This pad is good enough for watercolors?** A: No, this is not the right type of paper for watercolor. You'll want to look for a book/pad with 140 lb. watercolor paper.
