It says non-toxic but it would be good to understand what ingredients you're dealing with** A: Usually the ingredients in the E-wax are cetearyl alcohol and polisorbate 60. Therefore, this wax is not suitable to make cosmetics with "natural" claims. **Q: Is this product the same or similar to BTMS-50? Are the two interchangeable?** A: No. BTMS-50 is special because the emulsifier in it carries a positive electric charge. That causes it to stick to the negative charge in skin and hair and trap a microscopically thin layer of oil with it. Standard emulsifying wax uses an emulsifier without electric charge. It'll disperse oil into water, but won't trap a thin layer of oil on the surface of skin and hair. So this product is suitable for lotion and cleansing oil, but not for hair conditioner. **Q: can I make shampoo too and conditional ?** A: Soaps and cleaners so I am assuming so. **Q: 1 - where is this product manufactured? 2 - will vitamin E suffice as preservative (when making skin lotions) ?** A: No. If your formula contains water then you will need a broad spectrum preservative. Vitamin E oil is not a preservative.
