Kavafied AluBall Kava Maker, Noni Green

AMAZING. Did traditional brewing methods, 100% according to direction (be careful with the brewing temperature, it's odd, and if you don't follow the right temperature, it won't work right. But this little device 1) makes better (more potent and powerful) Kava than any other method I've tried (including tinctures, capsules and others), 2) Is SUPER easy to use 3) Works in seconds, 4) is very easy to clean 5) looks like any other meatheads protein shake bottle (so no questions from co-workers). If you have issues with anxiety, GET THIS NOW! As a life long sufferer of sever anxiety, I can tell you without hyperbole that one shaker full, made right, with good Kava, gives me faster and better anxiety relief than Valium/Klonopin/etc. It doesn't last as long, but it isn't as hellishly addictive as the benzos mentioned above. Do yourself a favor and get this if you have problems with anxiety, and would rather not go down the path of addictive benzos or other strong Rx medicine that could cause more trouble than it helps.

As a new kava drinker, I was spoiled to find out about this on kava forums and have it arrive on or before the same date my first kava order arrived. I have not done the traditional brewing method yet, and was tempted to knock off a star thinking that this must not get out the same amount that the longer and more arduous method does, despite the great convenience. I think it still deserves the fifth star despite that, and the price. I will say that others on the kava forums have used multiple "washes" of each ball, which led me to do so as well. The 2nd one certainly seems warranted, and 3rd and even 4th washes with less water seem warranted to me as long as colored water is being produced. I have not after a couple of weeks had any issues with the unit cracking, but I stick with room temperature water. The screwing of the ball worked fine for me for the most part(one time I had difficulty unscrewing it). When it isnt screwing together so easily, i just squeeze it together and it pops in place, often without need for any further screwing. I head read each ball full contained 2-3 tablespoons, but I easily fit 3 heaping tablespoons in. While I can't as of yet compare to the traditional method for efficacy, from what Ive read I can compare to the time and effort, and think this is worth every penny for the convenience. This ball works as well as traditional prep but it's a lot easier and cleaner. I was skeptical, but it really does just take a minute or 2 of shaking to have strong kava. Definitely skip the shaker bottle and just buy a different one. Mine broke on the second use and I bought a heavier one for only $10.

It's true-- this is a must-have device for kava lovers. It will not get kava as intense as the bag brewing/squeezing method, but I am so grateful to have a quick, effective brewing method like this, for days when I get home from work and just need to relax fast. If you use a kava that is coarser than powder, I recommend you save the kava after use in this aluball and steep it to get all the kava goodness out in a traditional bag-steeped batch. I use aluball 3 or 4 times a week, and I save the once-used kava for a large bag-steeped batch on the weekends when I have the time to fuss with traditional preparation methods.

Easy to use. Makes Kava brewing simple and less time consuming. Downsides are the cap is very leaky, ball holds a small amount of Kava, and the brew isn't as strong as traditional kneading. If I could go back I would buy a French press pitcher with a fine steel mesh filter for larger and more potent amounts of kava.

I purchased this in addition to a strainer bag and have tried both. For single serving this is hands down the best as far as convenience. I think you might make a more potent blend if you do the bag and kneading and all that. That said, this probably gets you about 90% as good as the more traditional preparation methods. I usually can do at least two drinks with this (rewash), the 3rd comes out pretty weak. I put in hot but not boiling water, Kava and just a little soy lecithin and shake shake shake, then let it sit for a minute or so. I shake it upside down like they recommend to not put too much pressure on the bottom of the shaker (though it appears reinforced). Thanks for this great product!

I received my AluBall Kava Maker last week and it is perfect for making small servings of kava. If you don't have many friends to drink with it can be tiresome having to knead kava in a bowl the traditional way. You need to grab a bowl, knead for 10-15 minutes and then after drinking you still need to clean up. There is nothing wrong with this method and in fact, it is fine if you're drinking with a big group. However, the AluBall Kava Maker makes it so much easier to enjoy kava by yourself. You can make a decent batch, ready to enjoy, in less than a few minutes. Just put your kava in the AluBall, shake for a bit and you're good to go. Afterwards cleaning up is as simple as dumping the contents of the AluBall into the trash. I used this product over the past few days and it made my weekend so much more relaxing. I was able to sit down, enjoy some kava, and go about my day without having to worry about set up or clean up. I find that it's also great to use after work. The one thing I do not like about this product is that I find the smaller cap to be easy to lose but that is a minimal concern when compared to the benefits that this shaker has.

I like how simply it is, and the mesh ball is easy to use too! Some people recommend getting an additional ball to be able to mix more per batch so to speak. I recommend this if you don't like the traditional method for preparation.

This is a game changer for kava. When anxiety strikes I don’t want to do traditional prep. This is quick and easy. May not be as strong, but, effective.

Considering how much this costs I’m disappointed that the lid split after just 2months

Very quick and works well!

No matter how tight the bottle lid or how clean it is, it will leak water out of the lid, it makes Kava very well and is very convenient but the leaking part is pretty annoying. Instead I've been using a shaker bottle instead with the ball for the same effect, but would have been nice to use the aluball maker.

Was amazing the first couple uses but the bottle Cracked. I kept the ball but now using in another bottle.
