My kid needed to be a little older
When I bought this my son was about 18 months old and I was inspired by the other reviewers that said their kids of similar ages enjoyed this toy. Unfortunately, it was not something he was interested in at all. Now that he is closer to 2 years old he is much more interested in helping with clips and straps when I put him in his car seat. I brought this airplane back out and he definitely wants to play with the clips. I just wish the straps were a little bit longer as it is difficult for his little hands to pull the straps together while lining up the clip. Working on it definitely keeps him occupied, though! It seems to be well made and I've been able to run it through the washing machine a few times without showing any significant wear and tear.

Tot can’t open 3 of the buckles - not tot friendly
Minus 2 stars for buckles too close together with no stretch and/or straps ever so slightly too short and for using small scale adult buckles.Fun little toy with a couple minor issues and one big flaw.Minor issues - the straps are too close together and should either stretch or be a little longer. Being too close together and barely long enough to close makes it a little frustrating for the tot to work with.Major flaw - there are three buckles that are the standard kind you find on lots of things like backpacks. They go together pretty easily if you line them up and you pinch the ends together to undo the buckle. #1 why are there three of the same buckle type - yes, it’s the most common buckle type so more representation makes sense, but remove one and give the kid some room to work. #2 these are very close, if not the same strength as a regular buckle - my 2 year old can’t open them. Yes, this could help him gain some hand strength but these are labeled child friendly buckles. I can’t imagine him still being interested in this toy by the time he gets that increased hand strength, so when playing with this, if I’m lucky, he constantly needs me to open these buckles. If I’m not lucky, he gets mad and has a toddler fit.Otherwise, he did like it for awhile. He seems to have lost interest, likely because of those buckles that won’t open without help - he’s still interested in adult buckles when we are right there to help.Second otherwise, the toy is great. The plane has a soft surface and is plush. The zipper and other buckles are good - there’s a zipper with a small pocket (this is listed as a place to put things but I’d say it’s too small), there’s one square buckle and one circle buckle that my tot is mostly successful with independently. He likes the different colors of the buckles. There are shapes and numbers on the side but these we have all but forgotten about and go mostly unnoticed in favor of the buckle and zipper action.

Exceptional toy - great gift idea
Bought this as a gift for our 1yo and he absolutely adores it. Soft and great to cuddle with on car rides or in his crib at night. The buckles work well and some can be mixed and matched. Amazing way to work on gross motor functions without being obvious. He likes to hide a hot wheels car in the mouth (which zips and unzips easily) Perfect size for his little hands and he's making the correlation to other buckles around the house thanks to the time he spends with this airplane. Would recommend as a great gift for small children. Will be buying again for friends

18 month old approved, not so great stitching
My 18 month old loves this toy, but within 2 days the stitching on one of the buckles started to come loose. Not even a week in, and it has now come off completely. She's not rough with it. Overall she seems to really enjoy it, and I can see it back together. So far, it's just the one piece that has had any issues. Might be a bit better if the pieces were a bit longer.

Great for manual dexterity, good gift for toddlers
This is a great toy for developing manual dexterity. My one year old son will sit and play with this for quite awhile. I've noticed a significant improvement in his dexterity since he started playing with this. The plane is plush and soft, and the buckles are attached well and provide a challenge to little hands. The buckles also teach matching a colors. My son LOVES this airplane. I have given this as a gift too and it has been a hit. I definitely recommend this toy!
