Lid isn’t as tight as I would like but it meets my needs.

We are a family of 7. My mom purchased 4 of these 100 cup ingredient bins. Fits about a 50lb bag of rice, 25 pounds of flour, and about 50lb of sugar. They come with a divider that helps rotate ingredients. The new sits higher and drops down as the old is used. After trying everything from 5 gallon buckets to fancy ingredient bins that almost looked like trash cans from simple human and difficult to open, these were the best purchase. Items are not kept airtight, so if you are wanting something airtight then these are not for you. With our family size and the amount of baking we do these are perfect. Ingredients are easily accessible, this slides under our work table with ease and they can be stacked. There are also 40 cup bins just like these for smaller families. I can also see this working for pet food, but because I can imagine a dog figuring out how to open it, it should be kept away from the pets.

I was looking for a sturdy container to hold my dog's food. It almost holds a 40 lb. Of dog food. Because it is commercial grade kitchen container it keeps the mice out of it. I love how the lid slides and tips. The only thing I don't like is it not airtight. So good thing my dog eats alot (100 lb dog). This would be more like a rice/flour/sugar container for quick and easy access.

I knew from the reviews that product this was not airtight, but I was taken in by the photos of this being used in a restaurant setting, so I did expect it to at least seal in some way. It does not. At all. I bought this to store large quantities of flour. There is NO WAY this should be used to store flour or sugar for that matter. When the sliding plastic cover is in place, there are enormous gaps, easily large enough for small insects to get in. For this reason I can't imagine frankly why you would store any food in them meant for human consumption. DO NOT buy this for that reason. On the plus side they are very sturdily built and I like the scoop, so I gave it 2 stars. I have given it to my husband to store his birdseed in it instead. I don't think birds are fussy about insects. Instead of this I bought two Komax Biokips Extra Large Food airtight Storage Containers which contain 48.6-Cups each and which are also a more convenient size for storing in a pantry off the floor.

We wanted to love this container and actually bought 2 in hopes that we would. We gave it a long while before giving a review in hopes that our initial feeling of the container would change.All I can say is thank goodness we only paid $79.00 for the 100 cup container less than a year ago and not the $134.00 they are priced at today.They are in NO WAY worth the $134.00They are not air tight.and somewhat top heavy when filled.Save your $ and find something else.
