Versatile and Compact Tripod for Travel and Vlogging
The ULANZI MT 16 mini tripod has been a very useful accessory for both travel and everyday shooting. I have used it with a mirrorless camera, an action camera, and even as a desktop webcam stand, and it feels stable and well built for its size. The extendable design and multiple height adjustments make it easy to adapt to different shooting scenarios. The 360 degree ball head moves smoothly and locks securely, allowing for quick framing changes. I also appreciate the cold shoe mount, which makes it convenient to add a microphone or small light. It is lightweight, compact, and easy to carry in a bag, yet sturdy enough for regular use. Overall, this is a well designed and practical tripod that offers excellent value for vloggers, travelers, and anyone needing a flexible small camera support.

The Little Tripod That Could!
I haven't used this tripod super extensively or for any intensive use, just little things like occasionally needing a closeup angle or some macro stuff on a counter, but so far it's held up fine and I've bought another one after giving my first one to a friend! The ball head is metal and feels strong, and the extension mechanism is metal as well. The base/legs are plastic and there is some flex to it, I wouldn't put anything crazy heavy on this tripod, definitely stick to compact cameras, phones, or compact mirrorless systems with small lenses. Wouldn't trust an A7 series body on this for example. Overall with my light use I'm happy with it!

Ulanzi MT-16 Mini Tripod Review: The Pocket-Sized Tripod That Punches Way Above Its Weight
As someone who's constantly juggling a mirrorless camera and a smartphone for both photos and video, I'm always on the hunt for gear that is small, versatile, and doesn't scream "I'm a tourist." I've been through my share of flimsy tabletop tripods and bulky full-size ones, but the Ulanzi MT-16 promised a perfect middle ground. After using it for a few months, I can confidently say it's one of the most useful and clever pieces of gear in my kit. First Impressions: Tiny Titan Unboxing the MT-16, the first thing you notice is how incredibly compact it is. When fully collapsed, it's barely longer than a smartphone, easily sliding into a jeans pocket or a small sling bag. The build quality feels fantastic for the price. It's constructed from a combination of aluminum alloy and plastic, making it light (just over 100g) but surprisingly rigid. The matte black finish gives it a professional, low-profile look. Key Features & Performance: · Extendable Design: This is the MT-16's party trick. It extends from a compact 16.5cm (6.5 inches) to a very functional 41.5cm (16.3 inches). The four-section legs lock securely with a twist-and-lock mechanism, which is much more reliable and faster to deploy than flip-locks on a mini tripod. At its full height, it provides a stable base for vlogging, group selfies, or low-angle shots. · The Ball Head: This is where Ulanzi really shines. The included mini ball head is smooth, allows for 360° panning, and locks down tight with a single knob. It features a standard 1/4"-20 screw, making it compatible with cameras, smartphones (using a phone clamp, not included), action cameras, and even small lights. It holds my mirrorless camera with a compact lens securely, which is impressive for such a small unit. · Flexible Legs & Feet: The legs can splay out to three different angles, providing great stability on uneven surfaces like rocks or stairs. The rubber feet offer excellent grip on smooth tables and desks. A really clever feature is the integrated 1/4" screw on one of the feet, allowing you to mount the entire tripod onto a larger one or a monopod for an extra height boost—a brilliant touch for hybrid shooters. · Convertible Center Column: The center column can be fully removed and reversed, allowing you to mount your camera upside-down for ground-level macro shots or unique perspectives. This is a feature usually found on much larger, more expensive tripods. Real-World Use Cases: · Travel Vlogging: It's the perfect companion for run-and-gun style filming. Light enough to carry all day, and tall enough to get a flattering eye-level shot. · Stable Time-Lapses: I've used it for sunset time-lapses on windy piers. While not immune to strong gusts, it was far more stable than I expected, producing perfectly smooth results. · Content Creation at Home: It's my go-to for overhead shots of my desk setup, product photography, and video calls. The small footprint is a huge advantage on a cluttered desk. The Pros: · Extremely Portable: Its collapsed size is a game-changer for everyday carry. · Surprisingly Stable: Holds a mirrorless camera or heavy smartphone without issue at reasonable heights. · Versatile & Feature-Packed: The ball head, reversible column, and multiple leg angles offer incredible creative flexibility. · Excellent Build Quality: Feels durable and well-engineered, not cheap or flimsy. · Great Value: Packs features found on tripods costing twice as much. The Cons: · Not for Heavy Setups: This is not for a DSLR with a massive telephoto lens. Know its limits—it's best for mirrorless kits, phones, and action cams. · Phone Clip Not Included: To use it with a smartphone, you must purchase a phone clamp separately. Given its target audience, this feels like a missed opportunity for a bundle. · Fine Adjustment: The small ball head isn't designed for micro-adjustments. For perfect framing in a studio setting, a larger head would be better. Final Verdict: The Ulanzi MT-16 is a near-perfect execution of the "pocket tripod" concept. It sacrifices the extreme height and load capacity of a full-size tripod for something far more valuable: the ability to always have a capable, stable support system with you. Who is this for? · Travelers & Hikers who need to save space and weight. · Vloggers & Content Creators using smartphones or mirrorless cameras. · Photographers looking for a reliable, always-available backup tripod. Who should skip it? · Those using heavy DSLR and lens combinations. · Users who primarily need eye-level shooting height. The Bottom Line: The Ulanzi MT-16 is an brilliantly engineered tool that proves great things come in small packages. It's robust, versatile, and so portable you'll never have an excuse for a shaky shot again. For its price and size, it is, without a doubt, one of the best gear purchases I've made this year. Highly recommended.

Use for a game cam
Works well on a game cam in the yard, where device security is not a concern. This tripod is a cost-effective, well-made, sturdy solution for using a game cam to capture wildlife in my yard. It is fully adjustable and holds the camera steady.

Good for me, and probably you too.
UPDATE: Ive had this for a few weeks now and i really like it. ORIGINAL: I got this to hold a webcam on my desk because it kept getting bumped around. It goes low enough to stay out of my line of sight and can easily extend higher to eye level if i need to temporarily. Angle adjustment is good and easy. Its just the right weight to stabilize the web cam on my desk. It is marketed as being also a selfie stick. I wont ever use it like that but i think its heavier than i would want a selfie stick to be. The legs dont seem very sturdy, but sturdy enough for stationary use with a light weight webcam. I will definitely be careful with the legs.

This tripod feels solid and works better than the one from DJI
Why I bought it I needed a tripod to use with my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 so I could record jiu jitsu sessions. I wanted something lightweight but strong enough to hold steady during movement. The built in grip and adjustable angles seemed like a good fit for what I needed. What surprised me right away It feels sturdy right out of the box. The grip is solid and does not slip. The material feels better than I expected at this price. Honestly it feels more reliable than the branded one that came with my Osmo. The adjustments are smooth and the ball head holds its position without drifting. What I did not love Nothing so far. It sets up quickly and holds steady. No issues with balance or slipping. It just works the way you hope it will. Would I recommend this Yes I would. If you are recording with a compact camera or something like the DJI Osmo, this is a great little tripod to have. It is light, easy to carry, and surprisingly strong for the size. Whether you are filming on the go or setting it up on a desk or mat, it gets the job done.

Works for my purses.
Tripod feet are a little thin and seem delicate, but overall it works well. I am using it to hold a construction laser at the moment.

Works with a ASUS ROG Strix 15.6” Portable monitor!
I purchased this tripod because I couldn't source an official ASUS stand for the ASUS ROG Strix 15.6” Portable monitor. Whilst the monitor has a stand built-in, the ergonomics are not ideal. The tripod has three sturdy feet and a right angle threaded head that works with the thread on the back of the screen. The tripod can also hold the weight of the monitor easily.

Excellent portable tripod stand
I bought this for travel, using it to hold a Magsafe mount so I can use my iPhone as a webcam. It works perfectly. It is lightweight and stable for my iPhone 14 Pro with the MagSafe mount. The shoe is an excellent addition since it also allows me to mount an LED light. The telescopic piece is compact yet goes up high enough to clear my Macbook Pro 15 easily. The adjustable bearing is also quite stable. This is a combination of metal and plastic, and overall the quality seems good.
