American Native

Like it very much.

This is the equivalent of whites or asians moving to the Congo, putting on lip disks and grass skirts and calling themselves indigenous Africans just because they are there now. This spits on our ancestors and our unique genetic culture. Being indigenous American is not a fad or religion, it is a unique race that has walked this continent for tens of thousands of years.

Great documentary

wealthy population wanting federally approved native American status.... I don't believe their story.

This is a wonderfully produced documentary about the Ramapough Lenape Native Americans. Their inherent dignity and strengths are evident--It is tragically unfair to require so much written documentation to prove tribal affiliation. Yet the spirit and attitude of these mountain people appears as the strongest proof of their native origins. They have much to be proud of. History proves the federal government was so misguided and dealt with the native peoples so wrongfully. Some things never change.
