04 TJ approved
Just installed this on my 04 TJ. I just bought the Jeep and the rear was seeping. Having the original cover on I looked for an upgraded version and found this one. I liked the features, look, and price. It installed easy and will make future fluid changes easier. My Jeep has a 4.5 inch lift running 33s and I found the fill hole was blocked by the gas tank to get the gear oil bottle up to it. I already had a small bottle pump and it made the job a breeze. So if you don't have a bottle pump buy one. You will be glad you did.In the box was just the cover and new hardware, no gasket. That was no issue for me as I planned on using RTV(liquid gasket). It worked great and looks much better than the old beaten cover I had.

Don’t Over-Torque
Nice looking cover for the D35 on my TJ. Fit well and was easy to install but I should have listened to one of the other reviewers who said not to torque the cover bolts to 30 ft. Lbs. I twisted off a head as well. The factory torque spec for the D35 is 30lbs. but I don’t recommend it with these bolts. Depending on your ride height the gas tank is probably in the way. Jack up the body to lower the axle and you will have a much easier time getting to it. Dipstick seemed to be right on the money. Capacity for the D35 is 1.75 quarts and it filled right to the top of the marker. Use 75W-140 if you plan on wheeling or towing.

Good fit and looks nice
I have this mount on a 2000 jeep cherokee with dana 35 on back.Is aluminum so is not going to be as resistant as an iron made cover, I’ve got this knowing that aluminum is not super heavy duty as other metals, but because is on the rear differential I was looking more for the look than performance, even though is a lot better than oem cover. It looks good and still gives me the protection I need for the gears. One thing I like is that is has a bottom drain plug to change oil, another cover that I have doesn’t have it and is a pain to unscrew 10 screws just to change oil.

Nice looking and fit perfect
Great upgrade so you don't have to remove the cover to change the fluid. The only thing difficult is reading the oil on the dipstick. It blends with the hash marks to easily. Would have been nice to have a contrasting color. Recommend using lubelocker gasket with cover.

DO NOT TORQUE TO 30 FT LBS!
Everything works and fit perfectly but the recommended torque on the differential cover bolts say 30 ft lbs but that's way too much! It should be more 20 to 25 ft lbs max. The bolts supplied are grade 8, but they're not a big enough bolt to handle 30 foot pounds. I twisted off 1 bolt trying to get it to 30, so I tightened the rest up at 25 and that is plenty tight. I know this is a manufacturer suggestion but just sharing my findings to save somebody else from twisting off bolts and having to extract them. It's a huge pita. Otherwise it's a great product!

Just empty every pocket (jeep)
If your planning on using this after you turn your axle a few degrees for a slip yoke and cv kit please note that the drain plug looks vulnerable... but I haven't wheeled yet. So if it breaks I'll repost... looks good though... don't forget to get the lube locker seal... great match.
