Looking to 3D Printer BIG!
The Sovol SV03 ExperienceI have looked for several months for my right printer. After considering and researching several contenders, I selected the Sovol SV03.My main criteria for my selection was the following:1. Direct extruder, highly recommended by many YouTubers.2. Large build plate. 350mm x 350mm x 400mm3. 32-bit controller, Mine has a Creality v2.2.14. Silent stepper motor drivers.5. Glass build plate, Textured makes adhesion and removal of PLA a breeze.6. Mesh bed leveling, It uses a BLTouch. It just works. Important to learn the Z-Axis adjustment for the perfect layer.7. Hotend runaway protection. Yes, please.8. Big power supply, 350 wattsSome of my hopes were:1. Touch interface, I bought the touch screen upgrade.2. Good top temperature, 260c3. Easy to maintain belts. It has knob tensions on the X and Y-axis.4. Filament sensor. Some people like and some don't. I'm still on the fence.5. Resume Printing after power failure. The printer has delivered on all points. The assembly of the printer was not an issue. The packing was great and the printer came out in two pieces, the X & Z and the Y along with the screen in a separate box. It took an hour to put together.I have printed several items without fail. Its accuracy out of the box is impressive. Without changing any settings, I printed a 20mm cube and it was off by +-.04mm on any axis. The steepers are very quiet and only can be heard with big G1 moves. Fans are your noise animals and that's with any printer. The extruder has performed well and seems to hold on to the filament without fail. Once I move on to other filaments, I need to update this review. If you're looking for a printer with the features I listed above, you can't go wrong with a Sovol SV03 printer. Now for the AND...As I mentioned, I purchased the touch screen upgrade. The screen is no problem updating and doing the wiring. The one thing you need to be ready for is the hot glue. For some reason, all the connections on the printer are hot-glued. My guess is it a way to guaranty the printer arrives completely connected after shipping. After removing the glue, carefully, and making all the connections. It is time to update the board to work with it. So I connect Cura software to the printer as described by the documentation. As I upload the provided .HEX firmware, the upgrade fails. Now I have a beautiful none functioning "brick" on my printer table. I contact Sovol support and after several emails, the support staff sent the key to successfully connecting to the printer. Whichever OS you use, get the latest update for the FTDI driver. After this is updated, I got unfeathered access to the printer and fixed my firmware issues. Bingo, the printer is up and it has been printing for the last week without an issue.Sovol's support team is very responsive and eager to assist you. Then the upgrade and minor fixes come. The Z-Axis cable bundle needs support. Without it, the mesh cable assembly drags on the bed. So I am print, as I write this review, a drag chain to replace the factory setup. Hope it works well. Also, as many YouTube reviewers have pointed out. Check the bed heater cable assembly to see if it has enough space and the cable is long enough. It seems to bend to an extreme if the cable is no far enough out of the system enclosure under the bed. I pulled my cable out from the enclosure and it seems fine.If you have gotten to this point in the review. Thank you for reading.Best of Luck.

Takes some setup...but not much...instructions are not clear...not quite, "ready for use" once built
Easy to assemble and get powered on. Mine was missing a bed clip. Cheap fix.In this price range, they are HARD TO BEAT. A person with more experience will likely find them to be a superb value with a BLTouch, dual-Z-access, smooth table, belt-tensioners AND direct drive.Print quality is very good out of the box using the small spool of PLA they include.Followed instructions to the letter, but the Z-Axis was WAY OFF out of the box.The instructions don't cover that it needs to be set in the bed leveling process. It also, does not function as they describe in their videos. This would have been a deal breaker for someone who would not have known to ask them on Facebook and then seek out resources elsewhere. They have either stripped out or left out some of the functionality of Marvel 2.0 Firmware on the menu. The Z-Axis settings for the offset do NOT move when the knob is turned. So I had to measure, save, rehome, measure, save, rehome, etc.I MAY NOT keep this printer because SOVOL doesn't appear to be as organized as others. Support is out of China so expect long delays to your questions on Facebook.

Printer was great for the first 1 or 2 months. WARNING - don't buy Sovol3d products
Worst experience ever with a sovol sv03, I’m writing this as a warning to anybody who may be considering a sovol printer. They are unreliable trash heaps that require hundreds of dollars of modding out of the box, Their 30 day money back guarantee is a complete scam. In the middle of a 30 hour print, the heated bed gave a thermal runaway error, abs now won't heat at all. Can't get any support from sovol either, NOT WORTH IT, unless you are already very experienced with 3d printers and more interested in fixing the printer than actually printing. Seems to clog frequently or have issues with the filament binding through the run-out sensor. Either way I lost a ton of material and time restarting lot of job.

Great printer. Best value for a big printer.
I have loved my SV03. It works great with reliably results. Between my ender 3 and this printer, I spend most of my time printing on the SV03 and most of my time calibrating and fixing my ender 3. Only upgrade I have done is I swapped the bed springs for silicone spacers and I hardly ever level the thing anymore. One thing you do have to realize is that with a large bedslinger printer like this one, you arent getting a speed demon. I print at the average settings for all bedslinger printers and they come out beautiful, but this printer is not equipped to handle higher than 80-90mm/s print speeds, but really no bed slinger is.10/10 the best large format printer I have used.

Not at all beginner friendly
Wishing I hadn’t missed the return window on this one honestly. One or two out of the probably hundred attempts I’ve made on this thing have turned out decent. Nothing has been perfect. I’ve had to take apart and fix so many different parts of the machine. NOT WORTH IT, unless you are already very experienced with 3d printers and more interested in fixing the printer than actually printing.
