I love this amp!
This amp is ideal for me. I have it connected to my computer via USB. Some people seem to run into trouble with the optical input. The USB input has been working flawlessly for me. It's plug-and-play with MacOS Sierra, and Sierra lets you control the volume of the output signal no problem (with keyboard shortcuts etc.), which isn't always the case with external DACs.The amp only uses 1.9 watts when idle so I don't have to bother with turning it off and on. I just leave it on 24/7 and it only costs a few cents per month and doesn't kill any polar bears. (I checked the wattage with a Kill-A-Watt.)I love the look. It looks like an awesome piece of retro science equipment with its chrome toggle switches and 7-segment LEDs. That being said, if you plan to keep the amp in plain sight, the blue LEDs are pretty piercing and could be distracting and annoying. I keep the amp under my desk so that's not a problem for me. I control the volume with software, so I don't need easy access to the volume knob. I just set the amp to 50 and forget it. That's more than loud enough for near-field use, even with my meh-sensitivity speakers (87 dB).One big thing about this amp is that there's no audible static or hiss from my speakers when it's idle. Even when I have my ear half an inch away from one of the tweeters, I can't hear a thing. And this is in my super-quiet study (29 dB). As a fan of silent computing, this is pretty important to me. I've tried three other amps and they all produced small amounts of static. Not this one!I can't say conclusively that this amp sounds any different or better than the analog amps I've tried, but from a signal quality perspective, it does seem a lot better to have a combination DAC/amp.Highly recommended!

TOPPING - Surely a name that TOPS it all....Classy Stuff at economy
After having used a few Dac/amps from Fiio ,Sony etc and while on the hunt for a wireless one i came across the topping line and ordered vx2 full dac (not wireless) after researching. To my delight it happens to be the best bang for ur buck with sure quality.Set it up with a mini lenovo netbook and 2 satellites from edifier, was aware of the burn in part yet got really worked up when playing the first few music files.Sounded drab with no life and jarry feel with sonics down the drain.well the best part was after 4 hrs of looping flacs and as i walked into my room i was stunned at the crisp quality of output and i surely plan to do business with this brand.A HAPPY CAMPER FROM INDIA.....TOPPING VX2 JUST MADE MY DAY....& WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO ...CHEERS

Good product for the price.
This works really well for the price it's at. It has an auto-on/off feature and goes into Standby when not used. I had success using both the optical and coaxial inputs. Only complaint is the USB input. No matter which cable I use, there is a 60hz tone through the subwoofer, even if the amp is off or if another input is selected.Audio is as expected, can drive low sensitivity speakers to unnecessary volumes at my work desk.
