For more natural, healthier dressings.
A couple of years ago I worked with a woman I knew had previously weighed close to 300 pounds. I sidled up to her one day and asked "Surgery??" She looked me in the eye and said firmly "Salads." I've now (finally) pulled off a lot of weight loss too, and yes, salads had an awful lot to do with it. Salads and Greysheeters Anonymous. As I'm now mad for salads, these are in use daily. I've got my vinegars in them - sherry vinegar with a few drops of liquid stevia is tasty as is balsamic. Someone commented on how slowly the oil pours out of these and I can't comment as my olive oil is in another dispenser - the Artland Press and Measure. But vinegar, which is freer flowing, is not slow at all so don't rule these out on that account. We buy the large bottle of Balsamic at Costco (definitely recommended and available on Amazon) but it's not realistic to use that size of bottle for directly pouring on salad. These are both easy and a pleasure to use so I'm not using as much commercial dressing with all the unrecognizable ingredients. I feel really good about that. The truth is, good quality oil and vinegar are wonderfully delicious. I noticed in France earlier this year that individual servings of good quality oil with a proportionately small amount of balsamic were the usual dressing and I did find it quite refreshing compared to our more chemical laden dressings. I feel that these cruets contribute to more natural ingredients which better complements the beautiful fresh vegetables I'm eating.

Meets my specs
I'm using oil and vinegar for salad now to avoid sodium, so I wanted a fairly small everyday-use cruet set. After reading reviews, I decided to spend more for cruets that would not drip down the sides or let in the occasional ants that suddenly show up in my kitchen. This set meets those specs. The bottom of the cruet is like a little bottle with a good opening at the top. It's easy to fill and wash. The packaging says it holds 3.8 ounces. This amount probably fills up to the line on the glass. It might be 5 ounces filled to the top of the glass. The tall plastic cover with a green lined spout screws down over the glass to meet the line, so the liquid shows below the plastic cover. The spout pours moderately and doesn't drip. Yes, the stoppers are small, and I almost let one slip into the disposal when i washed the cruets to start, but since I do want stoppers, I'll just have to be careful. The carrier has a plastic bottom and a chrome handle. It may seem a bit retro to the fifties because it's plastic, but it suits my needs.

I love it...
I wanted to get one of those pretty tall, glass oil dispenser bottles but most of them either don't have a cap or the reviews suggest the stopper gets loose after use. So I thought I was sacrificing aesthetics for function when I bought this set. But I loved the look of this set immediately. It has a nice weight to it, the glass adds a nice touch, and the white makes it look very modern. The chrome carrier is also beautiful. It works beautifully and it comes with two white stoppers for when you are not using it, so that the oils do not go rancid. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was because after I completely destroyed the packaging and had already poured oil in the dispensers, that I noticed there was a small, shallow crack in one of the dispensers. Not only that, but there is a sticker with the product brand that goes around the lip of the bottle, that was peeled off in some places. So I'm very upset that more care was not given to the packaging or inspection of the product prior to shipping, and I was sold an already partially damaged product.

With modification this is a good product
We had a problem with ours leaking so I contacted Prepara directly and they exchanged it. The new one had the same problem and I realized it’s because the silver collar is too thick to ensure a good seal between the cap’s gasket and the glass bottle. Removing the silver collar has resulted in a leak free bottle! I am surprised no one else has had this problem with this bottle. We had an older version from Prepara that worked great until I dropped it and broke it, so I was hoping this would be the same. With our slight modification we are still very happy with it.We like that a lot of oil doesn’t come out all at once. If we need a larger amount of EVOO for a recipe or something we just pour from the original oil container.(Side note: this product may be cheaper directly from Prepara’s website, even with having to pay shipping.)

Works Well!
This is the best oil/balsamic cruet set we could find. I had been looking for months at stores because the ones I was using leaked, dripped, and were just plain boring (actually like the ones at most diners). The bottom part is glass and the top is plastic. Not fussed about that at all. Is it air-tight when sealed, no, I don't think so.Pros* Doesn't drip <-This was the most critical point for us!* Stylish* Easy to refill* Carry case works wellCons* You need to remove the rubber stopper before using. Worried I will lose this.* Oil/Balsamic sticks to the rubber stopper so tends to get icky so you need to clean more frequently unless that is ok with you..* The inside is easy to clean but the top is hard to pop off and cleanWould I recommend it? There doesn't seem to be a better product out there so yes.

nesting in a carry device for easily taking them to the table from the cabinet
It serves our purpose of having no-drip cruets for oil and vinegar to bring to the table. They're the right size, mostly shielded from the light (with a clear view at the bottom so you can tell whether it's oil or vinegar), nesting in a carry device for easily taking them to the table from the cabinet, and they really do not drip! The white plastic covering most of the cruets is a bit "plastic-y" looking, a tiny bit tacky, but they don't look bad and they do the trick! The small cap that keeps the air out of the cruets seems likely to be lost in cleaning, and you have to hold it with the other hand while pouring, but not a big deal.

Excellent product
Well made, sturdy product. Non-drop in use, always a concern where oils are concerned. Bonus was inclusion of stoppers to prevent ingress of dirt/ dust. Recommend this
