Cal-Van Tools 104-03 Finger Socket Driver, (Pack of 3)

These finger socket drivers are by no means a must-have for the professional or DIY'er, but I get a lot more mileage out of mine than I first expected. The main reason I bought them is to help finger tighten a nut or bolt. And they work great for that, The little knerling makes them easier to turn than a bare socket. And you can also use them as adapters to turn a 1/4 socket with a 3/8 ratchet or vice versa, although you're still usually better off grabbing the right sized ratchet instead.But probably the thing I find these most useful for is to attach a socket to a ratchet when I'm going to do a lot of tightening by hand. It's faster to spin the adapter than it is to turn the ratchet handle, then you can easily put the final torque with the ratchet without detaching anything first. Saves me a lot of time, if I have the foresight to grab the tool in the first place.These little guys would be very far down on any mechanic's essential tool list. I wouldn't recommend using them to make up for a lack of correct sized sockets and ratchets. But if you have a well equipped toolbox and are looking for a little helper to make your life easier, these are a much better investment than a lot of the little gimmicky tools you see out there.

Perfect Size especially when used for removing Spark Plugs and they have a great grip even when you have oily latex gloves on… 5 stars

After having used these a while, I'm shocked that these finger socket drivers aren't included in everyone's socket set. I don't know how I worked on cars for so many years without them. I use them constantly when working on the car. They make tightening and loosening nearly every single screw so much faster and easier. Thinking about how I use them, they actually have 4 uses 1) let you turn tight screws by hand, 2) provide adapters between 1/4" and 3/8", 3) provide a very short socket extension, 4) helps you squeeze an extra ratchet tick out of a socket wrench in a tight space. Its amazing how often you find you're using one of these for two or more of those reasons at the same time. They really become ubiquitous. The only thing this set could use is a 4th finger driver with 1/4" male to 1/4" female and where the diameter of the knurling is a little smaller to fit in smaller spaces.The quality on these is good, no complaints. The color coded anodizing is very helpful. I ordered them a while ago, but I don't remember having any issues with shipping, which means it must have been fast.

I can def see how these would be super handy but to be honest I purchased them thinking that they ratcheted (I was going to use the sort of like a adult fidget toy because I LOVE the feeling of things that ratchet). That's my mistake though, for not looking closely enough. For the job they were made to do they're awesome, and probably easier in tight spaces than a similar device that ratchets.

I bought these 3 to get the 1/4" drive one. I am very impressed with these things. They work really well.

These are very helpful, but they are not high quality built. The knurled section of the part is separate from the socket adapter and press fit together. The silver one fell apart without any use at all. the knurled part slipped off the socket adapter. the Yellow and Red parts worked fine and have been very helpful. I am OK with what I received for the price, but I would definitely pay more for a better quality tool if I needed it for my job and plan on heavy use.

Nice quality, fast shipping. There is one with 3/8 on both ends which makes a nice turning grip for 3/8 sockets. I wish there was one like this for the 1/4". Instead the 1/4" one has a 3/8 on the other side so you cannot just put one on for a turning grip without using a different sized socket (from the wrench size).

Very disappointed the 3/8 solid silver finger sleeve popped off as soon as I put a socket. There's no set screw or any epoxy on this to hold the finger knob in place. Completely worthless for it's intended purpose.
