Cheap
My son is newly into Thomas. I wanted to get him a "starter" track since he's 2 1/2 and I didn't want to invest a lot of money before seeing if he'd actually use it. I thought this product was a good place to start since it comes with a complete track and even a built in bridge. It also comes with a Thomas train, which is great since you can never have enough Thomas trains (for when friends come over, their siblings want to play, etc.)Here is what I don't like about the set.1) The track pieces are very cheap plastic. They are nothing like the smooth wooden pieces or even some of the other "nicer" plastic track I've seen. If this is what all Thomas plastic track is like...go for the wooden ones!2) If you lose just ONE piece - the track is incomplete and basically, unusable. I have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old. They are constantly putting "treasures" in their backpacks, Christmas stocking, or anywhere else. Keeping track of all these pieces is a chore if you don't have a designated Thomas bin from the get go.3) The bridge is NOT motorized...Thomas is.4) The bridge comes apart from the track pieces if you bump into it. Well...that makes this a tough toy for a young child who is constantly moving around.Overall, it's not a good toy choice unless you already have similar plastic track pieces and a train table (or the child you are buying for is 4+ and has no younger siblings). This toy is fine if you are simply adding to a collection.

Now that we have 'talking thomas' the others go untouched
That's the only negative we've had with this set... is that now that my son has the talking thomas (phrases and whistles while chugging along, very cute) my only complaint is that his other engines don't get played with much.Love the drawbridge. When it took a few seconds for it to start to go up I thought it was flawed, but that's just how it is, kind of like a real drawbridge. Very fun and my 3-year old can take apart and put together the track and the drawbridge. Love that we got a lot of track with this too. Great set!

My kids love it!
My 2 year old son and 4 year old daughter love the train set. They spend an hour playing that almost everyday.
