75' Spencer Logger Tape (Model 975) Each

Not faulting the product. This tape measure is top notch. But I recieved the layout tape measure not the loggers tape with nail and circumference markings. Description is wrong.

I loved this until I actually tried to use it. I seemed such a sensible way to measure intermediate distances. Then I actually used it for a job. The actual measured distance was only about 40 feet. When the end was released, the retraction began and then the tape snapped itself as the end reached the reel. It now serves as a fairly expensive paperweight.

This product is shown with the nail to hook on the end of a log but doesn't come with it. I ordered the tape because there are no sources around me to get this. Misadvertisement. Disappointed.

As far as the actual tape goes, this is everything you would expect. All metal housing, smooth bearings, a strong return spring, and a quality tape. Now my only gripes. I knocked off a star due to the packaging. The seller shipped it in its box in a standard bubble wrap envelope. The box was dented and upon opening it the tape housing had a few dings in the edge. It’s not a big deal and would happen in normal use eventually, but it is a brand new product and I was a little bummed. Also, the listed model is not correct. I received a 975RN which is the version with a folding type release nail on the end not a loop end like the model 975 as listed. This was actually the model I preferred anyway, but wasn’t listed on Amazon. Just something to keep in mind if you truly want the loop end model. I look forward to using the tape and will enjoy not having to hold my spot, rewind my tape, and continue measuring on objects longer than my 25ft tape can measure. Also, the spring loaded release nail is well designed and measures true from the nail as checked against a yardstick.

The tape is great but it was advertised as coming with a log nail but it was not included.

What can you say, This has been around long enough for it to automatically get five stars. Its built to last.

Its great quality. I bought it fir my brother who is a contractor. He loves it.Took about 2 weeks to recieve from seller. Way too long.
