Season Cast Iron
If you own cast iron you probably have a method of seasoning that you prefer. I did too. I use to season my cast iron with a high smoke temperature oil (peanut oil) and I liked the results but wasnt thrilled. If i didnt get the oven hot enough and leave it that way long enough it could result in sticky not hard seasoning.I've read and tried a ton of different seasoning methods from using lard, bacon fat, olive oil, peanut oil, avacodo oil, vegetable oi, crisco etc and have determined nothing works better than flaxseed oil.Its important to have ALA fats in your oil to get a good seasoning. Back in olden days lard used to have more ALA in it than it does today which attributes to its poor performance. Also important to seasoning cast iron is the smoke temperature. Oil must reach its smoke temperature in order for its chemical make-up to change and react with the cast iron. The higher the smoke temperature of your oil the higher your oven temperature must be and the longer it has to stay at that temperature in order to recieve a good layer of seasoning. Why the flaxseed works. It has a high ALA fat content. It has a low smoke temperature 225-250°. And lastly, the linseed oil you find in wood varnish that makes the varnish hard and protect your floor comes from flaxseed oil. When the flaxseed oil hit its smoke temperature and reacts with the cast iron it gives it a hard smooth coast of seasoning that works great. As with all oils you do not want to cook with oil that is smoking. That is carcinogenic. So do NOT cook with this flaxseed oil! its smoke temperature is way to low to cook with safely. After oil has hit its smoke temperature and cooled back down it is no longer carcinogenic and is proven to be inert from that point forward. This is the oil I used on my cast iron and have been for along time. It works amazingly. Just use a thin coat at a time. I bake my cast iron in the oven at 450° for at least an hour to achieve the seasoning I am looking for. This oil needs to stay refrigerated when not in use. I know this is not what the oil is advertised for but i thought someone might find this information useful if they cant seem to find a seasoning method that works for them. By the way let the cast iron and oil warm up with the oven. Dont preheat the oven to 450° then put the cast iron in. Put it in while its preheating. Any other questions feel free to message me.

Ketogenic tool for success
This is a quality product for a good price, if I wanted lignins I would grind my own flax, and I do, so no reason to pay more for a product that's less pure.I will say, I used to not care about what kind of fats I used to get up to 120-150g per day until my LDL went up to 147, I ate a lot of cheese, so I started limiting sat fats to 25g a day. After that the fat research began and it was clear that, together with fatty fish, flax oil was a great tool to customize an even healthier ketogenic diet that already had positive impacts on inflammation. If you want to try something out, grind up flax and chia seeds, add some hemp seeds, unsweetened coconut if you want then add flavoring of your choice, basil and crushed red pepper is pretty good, add enough water to make a dough like consistency then spread it cracker this (you'll want to keep your hand or spoon wet). Toss on some sesame seeds for the sesamin to inhibit delta 5 desaturase a bit and theoretically reduce arachidonic acid conversion in the omega 6 cascade. Score to make cracker size then put in the oven for 20 minutes at 350, not much longer or the ALA will start breaking down significantly. Can make just about any ratio on the fats, coconut adds sat fats in mct form, it's a little harder to increase the monos than the omegas, mines 2/2/2/1 with mono being the least.I like to mix a tbs of this flax oil and olive oil with a musclean peanut butter milkshake, there's some micellular action in it that makes oil and water mix for a bit. Here's to your health.

Excellent Price for an Excellent Oil.
I bought this Quart of Flax Seed Oil to use on my face and body. I love it and have used it for about 10 months. I found that my enlarged pores appeared smaller and that blackheads melted away and did not re-form again. The oil has a rather "different" nutty smell which I imagine may be off-putting to some, but, it was not to me. I added a couple drops of an essential oil, so now mine smells like lavender. As Flax seed oil can go rancid quickly, I kept this quart of oil in the freezer and poured out 2 oz at a time into a clean bottle. I was not sure if I would use up all the oil before it went rancid, but I just used it up after about 10 months and it never turned rancid at all. So that I would recognize the smell of rancid flax seed oil, I poured out a small amount into a small "Test" bottle and left it at room temp and it definitely turned rancid in about a month. The smell was distinctly different. My bottle in the freezer never turned while being stored at 38'F.

Great for seasoning cast iron pans
I ordered this Flaxseed oil to experiment with using it on my cast iron pans. I use only cast iron while cooking and have over 20 cast iron pans. I usually season them quite frequently and was looking for something that would last longer and be more nonstick. This worked amazing for both purposes. This flaxseed oil is cold compressed and has no seeds in it. For this price you cant beat the quality and amount.First put a small amount of oil in the pan and rub it around with a paper towel, giving the pan a nice thin even coat of oil.next bake the pan at 500 degrees for 30 min. it will smoke a bit during this process.pull pan out and let it sit til cooledrepeat first 3 steps 4-7 times until you have a nice smooth, semi gloss surface.use pan as needed.Just a tip. do all of your cast iron at once. it is a time consuming process so doing all at once will save you some time.I prefer this over any other oil to season with.
