Easy setup if replacement
Several buttons on my old remote (same model) stopped working. Logitech no longer makes these universal remotes. I ordered a used replacement, logged in, downloaded the settings (wised for the old remote), and it works like a champ with all of my devices. Used device cost much less than a new replacement—and I’m not sure where new ones are coming from anyway since they aren’t being manufactured by Logitech anymore. The remote is nice because it can create activities (to start and configure multiple components with a single button—like watching TV/cable by turning on the TV and stereo receiver, setting the correct TV and stereo inputs and configuring the remote to work both devices with the rest of the remote buttons. Same for watching DVD/BluRay discs, listening to CDS OR USB (MP3’s), etc…. Sad to see Logitech no longer making them (or newer models).

The End of the Line
Logitech has decided to get out of the programmable remote control biz, even though there is a thriving need for these devices. Not sure who convinced them to bail, but they are wrong. The good news is that they still support the online Setup tool called My Harmony, and that is the heart of this system. This device came in like a brand new unit, with the plastic covers over the display and front panel, no sign of previous use. It is working great on our fourth cable box. These remotes allow you to set the components to be controlled up by just entering the make and model of the TV, DVD, cable box etc and as long as it is supported (virtually all modern devices are) the remote works as well as the OEM version. And, it allows you to program complex functions like turning on the TV, setting it to the right input, turning on the DVD player, turning on the stereo and setting up for Watch Movie, as we call it! Really the best of its kind and I was happy to find this for $100. A steal these days as they are very hard to find unless you go used, and even those are hundreds. Buy this if you want one remote for many functions.

Logitech - Renewed
I thought this was a great choice for a remote. I got it and it wouldn't sync up with the S/W. I called Logitech and they said that since this was a "Renewed" product that the S/N was "locked" and would not work nor could you override it. I sent it back and bought a brand new one from Best Buy for $30 less than the price on Amazon.

Difficult transition from an older Harmony 550
My old Harmony 550 owed an out of date control software incompatible with the New 665. Even though within the old software was a button suggesting one touch transition to the new 665. Ultimately, I downloaded the newer operating software (My Harmony) made the transition by importing my equipment specs from the old software by care fully reading the sparse information provided. Next was software confusion in names of ports. Once corrected, all worked well. Installing my old 550 was easy and worked the first time,BSI I expected the same with my upgrade.

Great Remote, Great Service
I've been a fan of the Logitech 665 remotes for years. The remote itself is a dream to use and the "My Harmony" app makes programming the remotes a breeze. Unfortunately, Logitech has discontinued this model and replaced it with less capable and more expensive models. Go figure.... I was a bit cautious to buy "renewed" (AKA Refurbished) ones but I took the plunge and bought several. I'm very happy with the results. Other than the packaging and my comments below, they might as well be new. Comments: 1. These remotes are motion-activated. By that I mean that they sense when they are picked up and turn on at that time. Therefore shipping them with batteries installed means that the batteries will be worn down a bit when they arrive. I'd suggest two uninstalled AA batteries be put in the box along with the remote and the connecting cable rather than having the batteries installed in the remote itself and thereby running down a bit every time the box is moved or touched. 2. I did have one of the several remotes I bought show up as DOA. That wasn't a big deal because with a quick return online and a short stop by the UPS store, the defective one was on its way back to AZ and I had a replacement unit the next day. Net: Great remote (my vote for one of the best ever) and great service by AZ to take all of the worry out of buying a used version. Side note: Shame on Logitech Harmony for discontinuing one of their best products.

May not work properly
The backlight on the LCD screen remains on all the time. There is no way to turn it off, even when going through all the settings in Logitech Harmony setup software. A search on Google shows that this issue is common. I found no way to fix the problem. Information on Google suggests that updating the remote's software can fix it. I have no idea how to do that. This situation will run down the batteries more quickly than normal. I likely cannot use this remote. Other than the backlight problem, the remote works.

Set up in My Harmony not as easy (latest / greatest windows ) but still great remote
I'm replacing an older model, with this. The set up for this model was a little difficult for me, as I could not get the software to work with my newer PC newer version of windows. After I used an older PC with older windows version and worked out the issue, was able to program the remote easily. I wish I could remember the "trick" to get the software to work, the problem was when trying to complete the set up it would lock up. I found that if I log in manually (maybe click my account) in my Harmony, I was able to continue and complete the set up. Great remote, after My harmony log in, the set up is very easy. Unfortunately the software does not appear to be updated for latest / greatest windows and internet browser version. Highly recommended. Disagree with some other reviews, the software is available, and you can get it to work. It may take a couple attempts.

Be careful and watch what you get.
I ordered this knowing that it’s refurbished. But I’ve had other harmony models and I love them. When I got this item, they sent the remote, a USB cord and a plug adapter. The cord did not work and I had to do a return and reorder. When I got the second one, I got a Samsung cord (you are supposed to only use Logitech cords) but it seemed to work. However, they did not include a plug adapter. The product itself is great. The seller, not so much.
