Maybe suitable for beginners, but poorly made, inconsistent molds.
This is a surely a decent set for the price. Arrived well packaged, all 22 pieces, stamped with sizes in mm. The colored, larger ones felt better quality than the small sizes (silver, no color). However, I don't crochet. I use these for all sorts of odd jobs like grabbing hard to reach wires, hooking onto things I can't quite reach- screws in a jar, that junk in between the stove and counter, and any other tight space things tend to fall into where you just need a good stick with a hook. Great for separating hair when adding hilights my gal tells me.That being said, the molds used for the small ones were not precise or even average quality as there are several tips with no hook, a sharp hook or just a nub, several stamped off center too. The a alloy is also a very cheap feeling. Like die-cast toys. Clearly, very little quality control by the manufacturer, even for under $10.As a comparison, I have a single needle that was given to me (0.75mm) that cost 2x as much as this entire set. And now I appreciate why. It's made of stainless steel, precision molded and has a tip so refined that it literally behaves like Velcro when the tip touches fabric. But not cost effective for 22.This set is probably fine for beginners who want to try out crocheting and would be more focused on the technique than the lack of consistency or cheap feel. But for a veteran crocheter, I would assume this set would be very bothersome to use.Do not give these as a gift to anyone with experience! They are more useful as drain de-cloggers.Verdict- For the price, it's a fair deal I must say. You get a lot of options plus a case. And not really worth the return process. They are a backup set for my needs. I'm now on a quest for a precision made, yet affordable set that can pull tiny transistors off circuit boards reliably lol. Classic case of " You get what you pay for ".To the seller:A little bit of quality control and better molds & alloy would go a long way here vs the cheap import junk. That's worth 2x the price to me and I'm sure to anyone that takes pride in their art.

Hooks Not True to Size
Updated Review: I downgraded my rating from 3 stars to 1 star. I really am displeased with the hooks all being the wrong sizes. I looked further at the hook marked 1.5 mm from this set and my US Size 7 at 1.65. The 1.5 from this set is in fact slightly bigger than 1.65. I don't know how much bigger, because I don't have a precise measurement tool, but it is noticeable in the way the 1.5 mm from this set grips the #10 thread. Anyway, I got disgusted and threw out all the hooks. I am now just using the case to hold all of my Boye hooks.Original Review: I have other hooks. My standard go-to hook brand is Boye. I have 2 USA size 8 hooks marked at 1.5 mm. The 1.5 mm hook from this set is visibly larger than the ones I have. the 1.9 mm is also much larger than the US Size 5 I have, marked at 1.9 mm. The aluminum hooks were also larger than the US size counterparts. The 1.5 mm from this set appears to match the US Size 7 that I have, which is 1.65 mm. That makes a *huge* difference when crocheting snowflakes with #10 thread.I bought this set because I wanted a 1.7 mm hook, and this set appeared to contain one. Unfortunately if it does contain one ... I have no idea of knowing which one that might be. The sizes are just so way off, but the set didn't cost enough to warrant sending it back. I will just wait til I have some free $$ and order hooks one at a time, to get the right sizes.

I was excited to get it because I love the color purple
I was excited to get it because I love the color purple, and I was looking forward to having a kit to help keep track of my crochet hooks. However, the quality of the case is poor, and the crochet hooks are not lettered like normal American hooks. It will do ok for my daughter, who is not as picky as I am, but I would not buy this product again.

Excellent set for crocheting and fixing sweater pulls
Excellent set for the money. I don’t crochet anymore due to arthritis and carpal tunnel, but I STILL use this set. How many times have you ruined a beautiful sweater because of a pull? Having multiple dogs all my life, my answer was, too many to count. But after I learned to crochet, I always had needles nearby to fix the pull. This set has SO many sizes, you'll never have a pull you can’t repair. And, if you love to crochet, you'll have the right needles for any project.

True to size but I prefer other brands
I used the 5.0 mm hook for probably half of a jumbo skein of yarn. I wasn't sure where my crochet stuff was after a move and ordered these because they were cheap and would let me start my project. I was running into an issue where my grip was starting to slip and I'd have to wipe off my fingers and the hook. While sweat and oil will always eventually make a hook slick, this seemed to be happening more often. I found my other crochet hooks and compared the 5 mm hook with a size H/8 (5 mm) Boye hook. The Boye hook is slightly longer, but the flat grip part of the handle is farther away from the hook by quite a bit. It also has the size on one side and the brand logo on the other, meaning there's more grip. The combination of the smooth back on this hook and the grip being in a different spot on the hook is probably why this one felt a bit off, which is why I give it 4 stars. It worked in a pinch, though, and if you want to learn to crochet without spending a fortune, this isn't a bad set. The hooks are smooth and don't catch, and that's important. The plus side of this set for me is that it contained some hook sizes I didn't previously have since US hook sizing has some .25 mm and .75 mm sizes, while this set is all whole and half mm sizes. It filled in some gaps and that might come in handy someday. I don't usually use crochet thread (I'm not that patient), but this set of crochet thread hooks (the smaller silver ones) has a lot more hooks than my other set had, and they're longer, so if I do choose to try some delicate work, these might be easier to use.
