I think these would be great for everyone with a brand-new washer to use as well as the rest of us who need to clean our washers
I'm too lazy to check out how old my front-loading washing machine is but I know it's well over fifteen years old. And long before I had that machine, my regular top loader used to get a similar smell and my repair man said everyone on my side of the street got it. Whatever it was then, it's twice as bad now and I'm sure it's mold and soap scum and all that stuff we don't want in our clothes - or in our washer, either. I've used the Affresh tablets; very expensive and didn't work that well. I've used white vinegar on a hot water wash - cheap but not effective. Tried Bleach and hot water - less cheap tho' it didn't break the bank, but still not great results. When I first got my machine, I wiped the gasket every time I did a wash but it didn't seem to be doing a very good job. I even called a repair man from the company from whom I bought a guarantee and volunteered to pay for replacement of the gasket, out of pocket, but he said it takes hours to do and even if I'm paying him, the company frowns on them doing such a large job if the gasket isn't torn or leaking. So, when I saw these Wipes, at a good price, I thought I'd give them a try. I'm not sure I'll ever get the scum that's built up on my washer but I can cut down on any more building up. Most importantly, I'm going to give my daughter some to try. Her machine is only a couple of years old and if she used these every wash or even every other wash, I think she'd experience far more UN-smelly years in the future with her machine. I wish they'd made them when I first got my front loader. When I was draining water from the front of my machine, I also used one to wipe the lint collector (for want of another name). It really cleaned it well and when I rinsed it in hot water, even I have to admit it was cleaner than when I use my old stand-by, ammonia. Then I got the bright idea to used one to clean the bath tub drain. The pop-up drain bit the dust years ago, and I've tried all kinds of non-chemical concoctions to clean the soap scum from that drain but nothing did as good a job as one of these babies. So, here's one person who says, these are really worthwhile and I imagine we'll all find them convenient to clean many things around our house, but most importantly, we have to get used to cleaning the gasket of our washer which is the main cause, I believe, for that disgusting moldy smell we get from our washers. I really think they're worth buying.

got black gunk from grout between tiles
this really rates 4.5 stars but that wasn't an option, so I rounded down. they're a bit expensive which is why I didn't give them 5 stars. after I cleaned the rubber seal completely, I now rip one in half and use that. these do get the goop out of the rubber seals in my front loading washer.and, they also were the absolutely only thing that worked on getting the black mold goop off of the grout between the tiles in the shower. I tried everything else, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, etc. but nothing else took the black goop away. the bleach and peroxide may have killed the mold, I think it might have, but these wipes were the only thing that worked to get the black goop off. that in and of itself is remarkable.I'm starting to put DAMP RID in my washer between washes and close the door. also an option are those mini humidifers that cost about 30 dollars. putting one of those in the drum and closing the door as much as possible [obviously the humidifier has to be plugged in to an outlet] will draw the moisture from the outer drum. if you have a stinky washer and the affresh tablets dont' work, its worth a try. you can also try a fan in the back of the washer, but I think the mini humidifiers work better, because they actually draw the moisture out.mold needs humidity over 55% and something to feed on. so, I use biokleen powder detergent which has enzymes and which mold can't feed on. liquid detergent is a no no if you have mold problems. I bought a temp/humidity gauge and try to make sure the humidity level stays below 55%. the top of the drum is generally the most humid.

Wow!
I wish I would have taken before and after pictures of my front load washing machine.I did not know until recently that people clean their washing machine. Who knew? I have a front load that I bought new 10 years ago and have never “cleaned” it.If you have a front load machine like I do, you probably know all about the gunk that builds up on the glass portion of the door. I’ve tried scrubbing with different cleaners to get this layer of grime off of the door, but nothing has worked. Then Affresh Wipes walked into my life. One swipe with these bad boys cut right through that layer of ick with no elbow grease needed. In less than 5 minutes and two wipes, the inside of the door was sparkling clean! I could actually see into the washer again (which the toddler loves). I was addicted. I decided to go at the entire washer with this thing, cleaning the rubber ring/door gasket and anything else that looked like it needed a little love. And I still have half of the package left!

En verdad muy útil
Casi nunca prestamos atención al mantenimiento preventivo de nuestros aparatos y estas toallitas son excelentes para ello. No dejan pelusa y limpian muy bien los residuos que van quedando en la lavadora.

No More Mouldy Smell - they work!!!
I've been using these Affresh wipes for a couple of years now and I can honestly say they really do work. I use them after every wash (or after last load if doing more than one wash in the same day). I wipe the door and most important rubber wiping all over and inside and I even lift the rubber ring where it meets the drums and wipe under there and since I've been doing this I haven't any any mouldy smells at all. I try to get This really is one of the best inventions ever and I definitely will be back again to buy more.

Great for Cleaning the Rubber Seal on the Washing Machine
For months I've been using the Affresh tablets for inside the washing machine and wiped down the rubber seal with a dry cloth and although the tables got most of the smell out there still was a vague odour. I bought these wipes and gave the rubber seal and thorough wiping and the whole door and really getting into the tiny space between the rubber seal the washing machine and suddenly no more odour. These wipes with very little effort and with combined use with the Affresh tablets has removed all odours from my washing machine. I am very pleased.

Very Useful!
These wipes are great to clean inside the gasket of my washer where lint tends to collect. They clean hard to reach areas very well. They are a good addition to using the Affresh tablets.
