These are beautiful pots and I wish the size had been right. I gave 5 stars because of the quality, not the usefulness to me. It makes no sense to me, I have learned this info subsequent to purchasing these pots, that the size is measured at the top! If it's only 6 inches on the bottom, it's a 6 inch pot to my mind! Roots grow at the bottom of the plant so that's where it's important to know how much room they will have to spread out. I wonder how this came to be the standard way of measuring planters. Caveat emptor! Or at least learn the language...

Very happy with the pots I bought. I bought four pots in different sizes and liked them so much I bought one more. I am using them outside on a tiered plant shelf (see image). I am putting plants into these pots inside their own pots so that I can bring in the designed pots during the winter. Not sure how they would do outside all winter in Massachusetts. Highly recommend!

I purchased this pot for a Cattleya orchid I received. I fits in and enhances my collection of Talavera pots. It is truly beautiful and a good size for my orchid.
