Alfred's Kid's Drum Course, Bk 1: The Easiest Drum Method Ever!, Book & Online Audio

Very good book for very young learners but does involve learning music notation which can be more tedious so ymmv.

I recently bought this for my 6 year old daughter. It explains in detail an very clearly what the notes are an how to read them. We brought it to her drum lesson tonight an he said the book was excellent in general an especially for her age. He said it clearly explains the basics!! go me!! lolI would recommend this book for sure!

Nice drum lesson book for elementary age students. Good ideas for young children to grasp musical concepts. Good flow with excellent color illustrations to add interest.

Very nice book but I wish the Dvd was instructional! It just plays songs you can drum along to.

It's absolutely necessary to use this before the drum set course, but it is not as easy as implied. It really rushes the student along.

Great book. I use it for my 8 year old student. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's not clear on some things. I'm not sure when it says "improvise" but yet still has a rhythm marked out for students to follow. Another thing that is unclear is when it wants students to use two or more sound sources. What if we are using just a snare drum? In that case I had him use the rim. Either way, a great tool to use to teach beginners.

Our son is 7 years old and wants to learn how to play the drums. I thought this would be a great book (I did look inside the book through Amazon's viewer) and it looked great. The problem is the CD, it's horrible. The whole point in having a CD along with the book is so the kid can hear what his lesson is suppose to sound like. The stuff on the CD isn't even drums, it's a whole variety of other instruments! In addition to this set we also got Carmen Appice's Realistic Rock for Kids, which also comes with a CD, and we love that one. Carmine actually narrates the book and takes the kids lesson by lesson like he was sitting right there with them. He is also playing the lessons ON THE DRUMS so the kids can hear what they are suppose to sound like. I recommend checking that one out instead of wasting your money on this one.

Bought a drum set for my four year old Grandson and wanted a book he could benefit from. He cannot read yet but the instructions in this are very clear (as long as Dad helps) and the play along CD is a great idea. It arrived very quickly and in good condition. My Grandson LOVES his drums and the book.

Esattamente quello che serve per cominciare ad insegnare la musica in modo semplice, ma serio, ad un bambino in età elementare. Io ho iniziato con mio figlio a 4 anni, con molta calma, ma con costanza. Una lezione di un'ora scarsa una volta a settimana, il sabato mattina, saltando anche molte settimane per miei impegni. Gli avevo comprato una conga da bambino, non un giocattolo, ma un piccolo strumento (comunque meno di 50 euro). E' stato un impegno, ci siamo divertiti per quattro anni e ora suona e solfeggia leggendo; cose semplici, chiaramente. Ci siamo anche ritagliati il nostro spazio, ora ci facciamo pure qualche suonata chitarra e percussioni.
