Able to seamlessly segue from a grisly death to a cute animal story in the blink of a stunningly beautiful eye, Brooke Alvarez anchors her show with the help of her eager-to-please co-host Tucker Hope, the recipient of several industry awards for skilled manipulation of his high-tech touch-screen monitor, The Recon Wall 4000. Together they tackle important stories like Kim Jong Il Shuts Down North Korean Nuclear Program In Exchange For Lead Role In Next Batman Film and Supreme Court Repeals Annoying Loudmouth's First Amendment Rights.

One of the most consistent comedies in years
Truly excellent series, breathtakingly funny right the way through. The second season isn't quite as strong as the first from a comedic standpoint, but it more than makes up for it with remarkably strong characters for what is essentially a sketch series and a fantastic narrative throughline. Joke after joke after joke, brilliantly entertaining. And if you've only seen episodes online or retrieved them from their original American airing, the DVDs (while devoid of any special features) contain delightful (and often mortifying) additional scenes within the main episodes. A thoroughly worthy purchase.

American version of The Day Today delivers sharp satire
After being online for many years and having compilation books sporadically released, finally, The Onion News Network releases a fantastic dvd compilation of the finest satirical news programme since The Day Today.Featuring many of The Onion's best presenters, in particular the beltway punditry of the First Responders, the bland, perma-smiling banality of Today Now! and the incoherent ranting of the semi-literate former gold prospector Joad Cressbeckler, The Onion News Network delivers humour sharp and fast in a way that we haven't seen for years. If all you know of American network comedies are the trying-too-hard-to-be-quirky, squeaky smart-mouthing that makes up the bulk of some digital television channel's output, The Onion News Network will remind you that American comedy can be smart and funny in a way not seen since the golden age of The Simpsons.

Good News Satire Comedy, very well written!
Very Good and Entertaining DVD, it fulfills it's intended purpose. About the product itself: Without giving away spoilers, there's some very funny scenes in this. And its got high production value and very well written. Not like most of the other stuff made these days with bad scripts and cheap effects, and also unlike the Onion movie. Very realistic and detailed, could easily be mistaken as real news at a quick glance! Perfectly good satire!Series 1 was perfect. Series 2 is quite good too! but seems to get too carried away and ridiculously unrealistic as it progresses towards the end few episodes. it loses its taste of satire and begins to turn more into an attempt at comedy. Still good though. Worth buying for season 1 alone, although there are some really good parts in season 2 aswell.Overall there's a handful of memorable moments including funny things like the "slide whistle sound that happens when peoples pants fall down (and who is responsible)" news report, and the very satirical "pretentious foodie BS" food skit by a real chef. All in all, this is definitely worth the purchase if you've got the time to watch it, and if the cost is less that £10!It's an awful pity that the onion news network did not release the rest of their series's on DVD. Some very few parts seem outdated (since based on things around 2011-2013) but most of the rest of the content stands the test of time.
