Nice Quality Ipad Screen and Cheaper than Having Someone Else Fix it For YOU!
I ordered this because my daughter had cracked her ipad. This was the first one I have ever changed by myself and just used youtube on how to replace an ipad screen. The video definitely helped me but, it was not so easy taking off the cracked screen. It seemed like it took forever to heat the edges just to pry off the glass. Then to make it worse since it was cracked on part of the edge I had to take off each piece with my finger. It took me about a hour and half with cuts on my finger and thumb. After I was able to get off the screen it was really easy to put this new screen on as long as you follow the directions. My daughter ended up bending the bottom corner of the actual ipad so the new screen is not secured down on that part. I just make her use and otterbox and she hasn't had any problems. I definitely recommend this if you don't want to spend the money having someone fix it for you.

This is my 3rd Digitizer and it actually works!I had ordered one from a different company which arrived cracked. They sent me a replacement but unfortunately there were spots on the screen that did not respond. (My previous ones were more expensive). This one works great. The tools that it came with is very nice/professional. Better than the other ones that I have received as well.

Use silicon sealant to make an excellent repair
So my son cracked the glass of the iPad. It was out of warranty for Apple Care, and a replacement by a certified Apple tech or third party repairman would have been pricey. I thought fixing it myself I would have little to lose, so I went with a lower priced replacement screen in case I didn't get it right. That proved be the right choice. The first time removing the broken glass was a bit intimidating, as I've never done it before. It proved to be not so difficult, but I did end up scratching the LCD display a bit. In the end, those scratches proved to be not so noticeable, so no real harm done. After putting on the new screen using only the two-sided tape provided, the iPad performed so-so. I could tell that one side of the glass didn't stick well, and it caused the action of the device to freeze or act funny. So, I bought a second screen and replaced it, this time adding some addition two-sided tape I had in the house. The disassembly and reassembly was of course so much easier now that I had some experience. However, I ended up with the same results. One side did not fully seat well and the touch screen performance was off a bit. I concluded that its not really the fault of the replacement materials, its just that its difficult to match the adhesion of a factory construction. So, for the third time I bought and replaced the screen. This time, I decided to use clear silicone sealer as the adhesion agent (the kind you use in the kitchen and bathroom). I figured that the cured silicone would scrape off clean from the aluminum body of the repair didn't work well. Well, it worked terrific. It's been many months since the repair, and the touch screen works exactly as it should. Third time was a charm. Still cheaper than paying someone else, plus now I gained the expert experience of tackling this job.

Quality replacement
Came as described. Not a hard job to do. A few things to note; there is a thin plastic strip between the glass and case that damages easily. The wifi antenna, 4G antenna (if equipped, at the top) and digitizer connection are also easily damaged. Digitizer of the old screen isn't so important but installing the new ones cable can be tricky. Unfortunately I pinched my new one when pressing the new glass in place. It worked great before I pressed it together! Don't forget to remove the plastic film from both sides of the glass and the plastic covering the adhesive on the back.

As noted by other reviewers, the digitizer grid is visible. The cable isn't a perfect fit and causes the screen to push away from the tablet. The adhesive strips are thin and weak. Having the tools is nice, but the actual part is substandard. I would not purchase this again.

the actual digitizer grid is pretty visible in the glass
It's comparable to the original, but only that. If you just want to get a little extra use out of your iPad 3 before upgrading to a newer device, it's a decent, though imperfect option. It lacks any kind of coating so it's both more reflective than the original and more prone to fingerprints. (If you never realized the original glass was at least a little resistant to prints, this replacement will prove it.) Also, the actual digitizer grid is pretty visible in the glass. It gets lost on darker or varied backgrounds, but can stand out on the lighter backgrounds prevalent since the release of iOS 7, particularly when viewing at an angle. The adhesive pads are pre-installed but fairly thin. That may be a good thing as it means it'll be easier to remove if you ever need to replace it again. On the other hand it also means that you might find the glass lifting in places if the body of your iPad isn't perfectly straight, if you leave it in a hot car, etc. The glass itself is the same thickness as the original and mine works great with good touch sensitivity all over. The install is quite tedious, but that's Apple's fault, not the manufacturer of the replacement.

Does not fit the ipad 3
The screen is too small for our ipad 3. The description says it will fit and it did not. There is a gap between the edge of the screen and the ipad edge (see pictures). Although, it is too small and still needs to be replaced again, the screen does work. We watched the video and followed the directions suggested. One other problem we faced is that we melted the wireless antenna and now the wireless does not work as well as before. This happened when heating the screen (not sure if it was just a fluke or commonly happens when replacing the screen. The one edge of the plastic screen also appears to be cut wrong as the gap gets bigger along the one edge of the screen (see pictures).

This works great! Disassembly was a bit more difficult than the YouTube videos implied. I had a lot more ground glass to clean out and broken glass to deal with - it didn't come out as one nice solid piece like in the videos, but with careful heating (blow dryer) and patience, after about an hour my iPad was working as good as new! Impressive fix for $15...I can't tell the difference between this and the original glass.

Not a great fit for an iPad third Gen
Did not come with instructions. Wet wipes were completely dry. Screen support frame did not fit iPad third Gen well, so I had to cut the corners to ensure a snug fit. Because of the bad fit, I had to use C clamps to make sure it stayed adhered. It was a long frustrating process... if you’re looking to repair a third Gen iPad digitizer, I suggest you look elsewhere.
