High Quality American AOR.
Hold Your Fire is Firehouse's second album from 1992 and it's a good one, maybe even better than their 1990 debut. The opening number 'Reach For The Sky' starts things of well-my favourite track-and sets the pace for things to come.Firehouse do ballads well and 'When I Look Into Your Eyes' is the only one on the album,I think perhaps they should have done another but choose to go for a more rock orientated style for the other eleven songs.Bill Leverty's guitar sound is amazing, can't think of another guitarist that gets this kind of tone and when combined with CJ Snare's voice you have a winning combo,it's just a crying shame Firehouse didn't hit the heights of Bon Jovi or Def Leppard as they were better than both IMO.

Good stadium rock
Not as good as the debut but it still rocks.

US hard rock at it's best
Second album release from Firehouse.Their music is a mixture of hard rock and melodic rock, American style. This is a step up from their enjoyable first album, this one has a slightly harder feel to it, especiallyon tracks like, "Reach For The Sky", "You're Too Bad", "Hold Your Fire" and "Life In The Real World".They of course, throw in a few ballads, but they do them extremely well and had quite a major success in the States with "When I Look Into Your Eyes".Great vocals from C J Snare, assisted ably on guitar by Bill Leverty. This is the best album from Firehouse, their other releases are fairly average. It's definitely not metal, but if you enjoy commercial hard melodic AOR, you should enjoy this.
